If you're referring to the Morgan which has been on sale at A***b**n for a while, I'm familiar with it. :D

Opps.... you owned it before? :D

Nah, not my style.

Anyway, it's pretty cheap. To buy, that is. Owning it is another proposition. :D

Let me go find out more....... if its selling almost as per paper value, as you said, running/maintenance costs need to be checked :D

history also important

It's like you read my mind. [laugh] Yes, I've considered a Noble, but am very worried about the reliability and being able to fix it if something goes wrong.

And I had the same thoughts about the Atom, with the added problem of daily liveability.

you're right about that concern. [laugh] like some have pointed out, the upkeep is the sweat.

lament the fact that kit cars aren't road legal, if not SWELL [inlove]

Lets put it this way.

You could buy around 3 R35s for the price of a comparable (performance wise) porsche (GT2/3)

there are many many times more aftermarket suppliers for porsche so for racing the Porsche may end up being the cheaper car to race as regards repairs and service items. But for road car using stock parts - forget it :D

No you can't, unless you show some figures.

The GT-R is known to get overheated fast around the track. The GT3, however can go & goes, until out of fuel or tires. However the GT-R is a hot sprinter for the few laps it can go. In any case, the wear & tear parts for both top end Porsche & GT-R are expensive.

Need to pay to play.

by all accounts the Caymen should be their 'flagship' in terms of its potential capabilities but for commercial/heritage reasons, 911 stays [:(] .......... thats what i was told by quite few hardcore porscheists... :o

Yes, the Cayman is a true mid engine car & superbly balance. I beleive the Cayman R won the Drivers Car of the year or something by EVO or some British media. It has so much potential but Porsche decide to tone down the car in terms of power & LSD is only an option in the current model.

what cant? too lazy to google yourself? what am i your secretary?

just pulled these off the net as a rough guide

GTR - $69850

GT2 - $245000

GT3 - $112200

i dont agree with that - but even so, whats your point exactly? im not sure what you are disagreeing about..... I already said the Porsche would probably be a cheaper car to race.

Need to pay to play.
really? your really telling me this? :D like i dont know that? Heres the damage report from my team garage resulting from the 153km/h kiss i gave to the pit wall last week during formula japan practice

our Honda enduro car is currently being tuned and preped for this saturdays 6hr endurance race - the bill for that with tyres, race pads, etc is going to be around 5000 usd spent for the race

stock the R35 is about 1 sec faster for a standing mile so either driver was crap or evo was modded.

The green evo did win the 2 GTRs..

The first GTR was smoked big time by the Evo while the 2nd GTR lost by a 3/4 car length..

The green Evo was on the front cover of Hot Stuff magazine and is done up by the workshop i go too..if i rmb correctly the GTRs were done up at ST Power

In all fairness, the Evo is intensively modified pushing 750++bhp. But the 2nd Gtr was also quite heavily modded but still lost on both runs. Video was on youtube but was taken down due to "sensitive" racing location tat could results in law enforcers stepping in.

The Evo is also JB drag champion btw

The owner of the evo has since already sold off his car. Too much "attention".

nothing wrong with a supposingly "lesser" car to perform better than the better one. still remember the EVO 8 FQ-400 vs Lambo Murcie feature in top gear sometimes back?

with the correct knowledge put together, even a proton satria able to smoke the almighty GTR (but the satria kindof play cheat with rb26....)

.. and all for the sake of keeping the 911 as theri top sellers / money-spinner :D

exactly, just leave almost any car to the pro race engineers/WS with a big budget (sometimes), it will become a monster to eat up most stock performance cars :D

to a degree,

but at the end of the day the wheelbase relative to the shape/size of the car is going to be a limitation to speed

you put a super fast engine in a say a mini and it will be useless/damn dangerous

for higher speed you need a longer wheelbase otherwise its like riding a wild horse!

kit cars use quite 'stock' engine etc from donor cars..... the industry is 'perfected' in UK and these cars are street legal once they pass the necessary roadworthy test............. dont think our LTA is smart enough to follow what their counter part in UK is capable of :D

yes, but i guess some race WS even go to the extend of modifying the 'fundamental dimensions' if they really want to but of course they may just pick another platform and save all the troubles? :D
