JaydenSTI 1st Gear November 25, 2011 Share November 25, 2011 top speed of exige is 273km/h I can assure you at that speed you need to worry about aerodynamic lift and stability when lotus built the GT3 endurance race cars they extended the exige chassis for just this reason. ... i did a 260kph on my ride for more then 10 mins, at 2.6m wheel base, i am very comfortable with the stability on my ride. im very happy for you. well done - have a cookie. this proves what exactly? Im not sure what your point is. Mine is that as you increase speed you are better off increasing wheelbase - its physics. You can argue with physics if you want but that would be a bit daft. every modification with a purpose in mind. just like the FQ-400 had in mind of getting super power at high rev, while the satria had in mind was to drag like to tomorrow. yeeeaaahhhss.....and your point is? when ppl mention gtr, u said ur lotus smoked it in a short course, to me, NPNT. say whatever you want. i can also tell you that my STI smoke a F458 ytd in a straight line at over 300kph, but i dun have a prove to show. i have no idea what you point is. My point in mentioning i smoked the r35 on the short course was tp point out lap time isnt just about straight line speed. a short course with lots of low speed corners a lower power lighter car can be faster. Not showing off - its physics. You can argue with physics if you want but that would be a bit daft. when ppl mentioned super high power modified car, you say short wheel base make those car run like wild horse.... wonder have you seen any drag race b4, do they maintain >250kph for more than 10 sec???? please learn to read. I said the shape of the car is important. the wheelbase compared to the cars width. Take a look at land speed record cars - long and thin, take a look at high speed boats - long and thin. Badder Neutral Newbie November 25, 2011 Share November 25, 2011 (edited) yes.... for the price of front brakes of performance full size car (maybe even less) you get the thrills of high Gs and quick 0-100, and you can experiement with all kinds of racing techniques/craft, bumper to bumper actions, or just bump the guy in front / on your side off the track if you are nasty if you're fearless enough, you get airborn and land in the opp direction (not recommended). then on public roads, just drive your daily car as law-abidding as you could... of course you can also spend up to 20k for a brand new one it does feel like 2.7 sec when it's not.... my 7 year old is into karting, has his own kart goes every week. I coach him but never felt interest to try it myself. (think im too tall anyway lol, CG may be off lol ) If i wasnt able to do the real thing im sure id be a regular though, some of the guys there have some real skills and can handle the karts really well. i think they are excellant training for car handling Edited November 25, 2011 by Badder Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
