Those with the money and knows what they're talking about do this...

Sure. Nice build and all.

Not saying that it is not a nice car, but end of the day, it is still a nissan.

That is all that I am saying [laugh]

Just not very practical for SG roads.

If there is a track in SG, I will be the 1st in queue to get an off road for it.

For daily driving ..... really?

yah...they will buy Z4 M

Sense some ribbing here but yes [laugh]

2.7 secs is fast but SG traffic lights are many.

It is a great car no doubt, just overkill here.

But to each its own ^_^ at the end of the day, its all about the branding here.

Afterall the Fastest car here in SG is TP's WRX.

Then again if only the styling of the GTR is the same as the supercars ......

myth: its the balls n guts. no way a cooper s or even jcw can makan a sti or evo on a track or drag . urban? thats for reckless n show off drivers. waste of time proofing nothing.

give me a gtr anytime vs 911. more space, pace n save a couple of 100k for dp for condo n collect rental for next supercar....

Its also the size of the car.

In traffic, there is no way to beat a smaller car, just like there is no way to beat a motorbike in such situations.

Myth? by far ...

I'm not one for brand snobbery. This car deserves respect. The GTR may well be my next "target" if I get tired of my Porker.

The snobbery against Japanese cars in favour of German and Italian marques is a form of racism. It's just so sad that a lot of it comes from Asians who should know better. But then we're the stereotypical victims/perpetrators of the Pinkerton syndrome, right? Here's a newsflash: nobody in the rest of the world really cares if you drive a "Conteee car".

You know the American redneck racist types? They firmly supported their own POS cars like the Mustangs etc., even though they stacked up abysmally against the Jap supercars. And now that they actually have something to stand behind like the awesome Corvette ZR1, they will NEVER give the GTR its due. At least, even if they're racist, they know which side they're on. [rolleyes]

GTR is indeed a very impressive sports car from the rising sun. I would serious go for it if my pocket is deep enough. But having it in SG is an overkill because it can't be fully be appreciated. Nevertheless, it really shows that great value that doesn't really compromise on performance and build quality.

Ah...i guess you spotted me fooling around then. [laugh]

Just joking.

I "ate" a CLS 55 AMG in urban driving before but he makan me back on the PIE. Exited stevens and ended up in Tanglin when he pulled up beside me and gestured for me to wind down window. I gave him a thumbs up sign and turned right into cuscaden, leaving him going straight racing with himself.

That's a good one!

Too serious to be considered racism here.

It is afterall JUST a car.

Just like how the Japanese cars are favored over the Koreans and Korean cars are favored over Malaysians and Malaysians over China's.

Branding comes with a reputation and prestige of better build, features , functionality, quality.

However it still boils down to really one's own preference and perception, just like buying electrical appliances or a phone even.

So if you are not one for brand snobbery, you should consider all brands of cars, fashion, appliances and phone. Consider much?

Do let me know if you are selling your branded items, ya?

Lol, nope, the s15 is an absolute babe magnet ~!

Buy one, you will find out. ^_^

The s15, is a true beau, but with its COE nearing, PQP constantly rising and all the surround sound rattling and noise that was appearing in all places, I had to get a new ride. It was a tough decision, as there was huge sentimental value afterall the mods and girls picked up in 8 yrs.

The GTR was also in my shopping list, as with the 2 variant of the Porker.

But at the end of the day, I am happy with my choice.

Here's why I didnt buy the GTR.

1. The brand .. ack I am swallow [laugh] nah just enough of jap cars.

2. The styling does not appeal to me, i like the slick and flat look etc s15, rx7 instead of the boxy looking etc evo

3. Sitting position, as with boxy cars, your sitting position becomes much higher.

4. I dont want to again spend days and weeks and months in Workshop for mods and repairs.

5. The very high maintenance required just to drive around in SG .... Zzzzz

6. Interior trimmings, speakers and headunit

7. Very high insurance loading on the car, costly roadtax too.

These are purely my experience and opinion.

I am in no way slamming the GTR, infact I am in awe of the engineering in this beast [thumbsup]

OK, now that I have a bit more time for a serious reply: agree that branding comes with a reputation blah blah, BUT when a manufacturer breaks the mold and comes up with a product that defies expectations to the point where auto journalists pretty much the world over are *raving* about it, then it IS just prejudice to say "it's just a Nissan".

See - this is what I'm talking about. Regarding the GTR as a jap car first, and a supercar thrashing monster second.

But I sorta see where you're coming from. I had the same sort of thinking before I got my first Conti. But now that I've gone through a few, I'm ready to go Jap again, and the GTR is definitely no compromise.

BTW, I had an S13 200SX back in the day. Popup headlights and everything. Yes, babe magnet, if you count the ah lian types. [laugh]

Nah, just kidding - that car looked sexy enough to pick up chicks. One realises that most girls are clueless about cars, and they go for a sexy/curvy looking car regardless of the marque. Perhaps that's the way it should be - at least chicks are not car snobs. :D

lol hey I didnt make the slogan nor the logo. [laugh]

Of course I know it is not just a nissan, it was just said in jest.

If you were to sell your porker, I am sure you will not go get the GTR.

I know, I know, you just posted that you may well 'target' it.

But 1st go test it, hell ... drive it for a week in SG.

Then perhaps the slogan will become much clearer?

Yes I will get it for the track, no I will not get it here in SG as a daily drive.

It is just overkill, but with that said, yes it is absolutely great engineering.

Infact the godzillas have always been impressive.

No, I seriously might. Get it, I mean.

The reviews are saying it's quite comfortable as a town car. But yes, I'll have to test drive it first.

The one Japanese supercar I will NOT be getting is the Lexus LFA. Because the price:performance ratio simply isn't there. And I'm not an "exclusivity" snob either. -_-

It is quite comfortable, but it just doesnt feel ermm .... 'branded'? Opps ... okie expensive? blah you get what I mean.

You do get the power but for city driving I feel that it lacks agility.

Maybe cos its too boxy and I got crappy driving skills. lol
