Luckily i have small ambition/taste which can be satisfied with my small budget. Whereas you can find me a 5 seater that has the frugality of a hybrid car but rides like a tank?

personally i will take any car which seats 4-5, reliable, decent power, and if possible, unique look outside will be a bonus.... always wanted to try commercial veh (eg double-cab pickup - functional+rugged) or even high-riding SUV (flood-proof)...

What you are driving now, how did you choose it? (Assuming your choices are within budget)

Did you choose it based on the priority below (starting from most important to least impt):

1. Your own preference eg 60%

2. Bf/wife's comments 25%

3. Frens' advice 10%

4. Pressure (eg to match your 'status', or to match your frens' ride, or to make sure others 'respect' you becoz of what you drive) 5%

You can put in your or % and reposition the above from highest to lowest %

Is you ideal method of choosing a car same as what happened to your choice of current ride?

Mine is:

1. Own preference 40%

2. Wife's preference 40% (coz she uses the car as much as i do)

3. Frens advice 20% (on technical stuff)

4. Pressure 0%

Mine :

1. Former Car Window smashed no spare parts + COE all time low - my preference = 110%

2. Wife's say financial crisis - I Siao arh ? change car ? = -10%

So total 100% therefore I buy loh... [laugh]

My Preference 100%

Budget 100%

Originally wanted either of the following:

1. Honda Jazz: But find it too small and expensive....

2. Honda City: Functional car, but do not have left foot rest. Find my left foot blocked by central column...

3. Honda Airwave: Ideal, but too expensive.. Furthermore its PI car....

4. Honda Civic: Feel rear passenger feet will get caught by B-pillar....

Undecided, I took a walk further down, found Latio introduced by a sweet SE..... Slow car (since I already drive too fast) and comfortable.. Cheaper then all Honda models... So signed the paper....

SE says I'm her fastest customers to sign the line.... Delivery quick too :)

i drive an L200 triton.

1. Your own preference 100%

2. Bf/wife's comments 0%

4. Pressure (eg to match your 'status', or to match your frens' ride, or to make sure others 'respect' you becoz of what you drive) 0%

reason being, people said it was totally crazy to pay so much for a goods vehicle with no Parf value /70kmh limit, cannot go right lane, cannot go malaysia.

my truck has a 2.5L turbo diesel engine, chipped up, lots of torque for me to carry goods around, very comfortable ride, sits 5, not worried about floods and every month, someone will stop me to ask me about my ride.

For the price i paid i could have got a used Accord or Civic 2L. But those cars wont be as nice and good to drive as my current ride :)

Thus sometimes, other people will never understand how u truely feel about a car.

For example, Alfa owners. People always say Alfa is a car that always breaks down, etc etc.lousy, etc etc. but when u talk to the alfa owners, they are crazy over the car and the love for a brand is something that cannot be explained in words :)

At the end of the day, its up to you on how important a " car" is to you :)

Cheers!

I thought you usually start with 50% personal preference, 50% performance, then you brainwash yourself to become 70% wife and family and 30% safety, then after that because 40% budget, 30% wife and family preference, 30% safety.
