Insensitive or too sensitive?

1. The Nazis weren't really fascists - this would be pretty much secondary to their beliefs

2. Are you sure that the swastica is antediluvian? This would make it pre Noah flood. I don't have a timeline for the flood, but there are recorded instances of the Swastica going back to about 4000 BC

Do take note that there are differences betweent the Nazi Swastica and the traditional Buddhist symbol (most notable the orientation of the arms) and that in some places there is now quite serious moves towards "reclaiming the swastica"

Do also take note that the "good luck number" of 88 has serious links to the nazi party, and in some circles if you use the number the first association that some people will make is that you are a neo nazi. (eg: Lucky 88 Cafe = neo nazi hangout)

H is the 8th letter of the alphabet

88 = HH = Heil Hitler

Also, the number 14 stands for the 14 words: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children"

Studied the '90s amerikkkan neo-nazi movement in a sociology class back in college.

Won't happen unless the neo-Nazi morons repudiate the symbol. I don't see such morons doing anything useful to humanity in the near future. And so for now, one will still have to accept ludicrous things like being guilty of a crime if one were to innocently display this ancient auspicious symbol on a T-shirt in Germany. [rolleyes]

This "reclaiming" business never quite works out anyway. The African Americans have been trying to reclaim the "N" word for ages now. The word still carries a HUGE racist connotation, especially when used by redneck racist trash. All the AAs have done is to add the burden of alleged hypocrisy to their shoulders - I've actually seen redneck racist trash railing against the AAs for their hypocrisy in using the epithet on one another while forbidding those of other races from using it on them. Good grief.

I would love to see the movement succeed just for the pure laugh factor of it. Could you imagine a neo-nazi skin head walking around with a swastica, meeting a nice black northern indian - and the indian being all happy to see the wishes of good luck? I could just see such a scene in my mind - kinda like painting daffodils or daisies onto a hells angels helmet and gas tank. :D[laugh]

But such things do have a serious point - the more people associate (or at least know about) the swastica's true meaning, the less power it has to intimidate - which I think is a good thing. If you take away one tool of intimidation from Neo Nazis, you absolutely reduce their "power" (if that is the right word to use)

Echoed my sentiments. Great minds, etc. [laugh]

Either number (88 or 14) when seen separately may be an unhappy coincidence, deserving of the benefit of the doubt. When seen together, usually concatenated as 1488 or with a slash as 14/88, take heed. There's a moron on the loose.

Said morons often like to remove all doubt by adding a Celtic cross, a Suncross, a Sunwheel, a few runes (which I doubt they understand anyway) or even a Swastika. Noone ever accused these guys of being subtle. [laugh]

Have you seen Dave Chapelle's "Clayton Bigsby" sketch? It's worth checking out, trust me. But watch it in its entirety. Most versions I've seen on the Net break it up into two parts.

fyi Nazism-an unique branch of Fasicism partly the reason why Hitler was quite buddy buddy with Mussolini.

given that the flood occured about 2348 BC, i am pretty sure chronologically speaking, Buddhism predates that.

Window display was a Jap soldier preparing to behead an blindfolded Allied POW.
