More and more disappointed with what they publish online nowadays. [:(]

Are there no other letters of public interest?

The following simple thank you letter to some specialists of a private hospital is worth putting up for all to see?

Can't this guy just write to the specialists or the hospital directly instead of letting you, me and hundreds of thousands of other folks know?

But the most amazing part is that the editor apparently thinks so.

From ST Forum:

Gratified by medical treatment at Mount E

I WAS treated at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and compliment Dr Leow Cheng Gek at Jade Medical Clinic and Dr Li Yung Hua of Orthopaedic Associates at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.

I thank the medical team and staff at Mount Elizabeth Hospital for their efficiency and care.

Next time I suspect something of such will get published:

I wish to thank MP XXX of YYY GRC for helping to secure a job at ZZZ company.

Although the previous investment company paid me millions for my hard work, I felt that they were treating me like a money-making slave and I have no work-life balance at all.

As a FT then I think I deserve better treatment than that for contributing to this bank for the past 20 years.

This was because I felt so trapped with this job until I had no time to take my 30-ft yatch out of the Cove, no time to take my Lambos, Ferraris and Roadsters out for a spin and even have to give up going to the Alps for our annual family retreat.

It is through the hard work of XXX that I finally gotten a job as the CE of a public listed company and now I am thoroughly excited to take on this new post which promises a better work-life balance and would you believe it, a better paid job than my previous private banker job!!

And also through his kind help in writing a strong recommendation letter to the authorities, I managed to first got my PR status and recently my citizenship. (As for my spouse and sons, they say they are still considering so let us not rush them)

I think we should give our thanks to our government which has single-handedly build Singapore from a swampy fishing village to what is is today- a modern and sleek country with a GDP larger than even some advanced states. With its pragmatic open-door policy for the invaluable FTs who included yours truly previously, the future of this country is bright.

For those of you who grumble, complain and make fun of this good government, I say you have no sense of perspective and have no idea how lucky you guys when compared to most corrupted nations out there.

And to those who always say FTs snatch your jobs, well, that's life.

LOL.... you have unintentionally provided a 'template'.... not going to protect your copyright?

But seriously, the forum editors will 'do their job' to decide what to publish, under the watchful eyes of we-know-who... [:(]

ok la i think its a good idea anyway. people in our society complain alot but they dont praise people when necessary

Not against any expression of thanks and in fact I agree with you that this is quite lacking in our unforgiving climate and folks should show gratitude when needed.

Just that this fellow can thank the specialists in private and to their superiors or hospital if he thinks it warrants their attention.

Some other letter could have been more deserving to be published IMHO [:)]
