I am cool, just checking if anyone got a better deal...since any car purchase in SG is a big deal for any person...

Btw, my 6k discount includes a trade in of a preowned car. So if you do not have a pre-owned car, I believe the car discount maxes out at 4k..

Fyi, i trade in my 9 yrs old car last year, they only give me scrap value return

To be precise, what I mean as same package as you.

1. 8NG COE bid

2. Trade in my old car with scrap value

Equal to 4K disc from listed price plus less than $700 freebies

that means I have gotten a good deal then... :)

I have yet to decide on the purchase as there are many new crossovers coming at the end of the year...might also wait abit to see if COE drops, the XV is still on the top of my list!

I think it is time to do some survey about the car battery, since 1.6i XV is coming with start/stop capability. Anyone change the car battery so far?

Found this Varta that support start/stop, certainly not cheap $355.

What is the interval to change the battery? I usually turn off start/stop but I have a blackvue cam that runs on the battery on parking mode so I'm looking to change the battery at the 1.5 to 2 yr mark.

i don't use it because i don't find it saves much fuel, and I'm of the opinion that the shorter battery and starter motor life is going to negate fuel savings. our car only 1 starter motor...no like merc B class w 2 starters and thus, where start/stop starter spoil still can start engine. Hence, i'm expecting my battery to be overspec for my use and therefore, 2 years should be reasonable!

I agree that it may not save much on fuel and could be shorten the starter lifespan as well.

Nevertheless, based on my records, for the last 10,000 km (recorded after servicing), the start/stop accounted total 13H 49M, I think it is very significant number (yes, spent too much time for traffic jam and before the traffic lights).

Mine is 18months old now, so very soon for the battery replacement :)

Neutral Newbie

Hi

Would like to ask the xv owner here if they can fit 2 big 28" luggage into the boot with the rear seat up.

Thanks you

My stock battery lasted for 2years 3 months, with start/stop on. Then changed to Amaron 90D23L (PRO), was charged by MI for much higher price...coz spoiled in the car park, and

call them to change (SGD 3xx). Now the battery is 2years  1month now, the start/stop function is not working

due to the battery is not in good condition (maybe going to die). But found a good deal from batteryempire.sg.

they offer offside battery changing, and the price of that particular Amaron battery is only $170. Quite a nice bargain.

anyone know if the current 2016 stock XV has the "Eyesight" technology included?

I saw it in the youtube videos, it is useful for lane detection but I heard our SG models does not come with it ?

I may be wrong..

Also the current loan interest rate quoted is 2.98% p.a. now.  I think it may drop if there is some bad economic news globally.

hi BushidoGarmin,

there is no eyesight tech for sg XV stock.

for loan i am not too sure about the increase. i got mine in feb 2016 for minimum loan at 2.48%.

Thanks csjdraj for confirming the Eyesight tech...

It seems quite useful, I really hope they brought in models with it.

Anyway I know for sure that Motoimage makes at least a 20k profit per XV vehicle sold..I believe they can do better with their stock.

Hi Ruennchai, thank you very much for the info.

I hope the Amaron 90D23L perform as good as the stock if not better.

$170 is very reasonable I would say, will keep the contact of batteryempire.sg for sure.

Cheers~~~

COE for Cat A just went up by 700 SGD...sigh... Anyone thinks waiting to 2017 will be a better year for lower COEs?

If not, why ??  Eyeing the XV but don't wish to commit unit price drops to 100k or COE to 45k, either or.

Even though all of us here are experts in COE but none of us are in reality. The right time to buy a car is anytime you really need a car.

So if have no need for a car.. joint the wait list but then you will probably see a fruit tart in front of u..

So correct, too bad I cannot praise again.

Best is to check with your SE and let him advise you.
