1fast1 Supersonic December 27, 2011 Share December 27, 2011 (edited) I'm not really a watch guy, and I really should know better than to get into this thread (later wait kena poisoned. ), but any opinions on Ulysse Nardin? Their Marine series (the Blue Seal) is the only one that appeals to my sense of aesthetics. I prefer the design to all the PPs, APs, RMs, etc. I've seen. Anyone else has UN or would like to share an opinion about them please? Accuracy is also very important to me, and while I know automatics are much less accurate than quartz, a good auto movt can still be very accurate (more than COSC which is -4 to +6 sec/day or something like that). Is UN "very accurate" also? Edited December 27, 2011 by Turboflat4
TMCTR Neutral Newbie December 27, 2011 Share December 27, 2011 Sorry for hi-jacking thread, but since all the watch enthusiasts/pros are here, I'll grab this opportunity to ask something.. Anyone can recommend a watch for my Dad, budget around $600-$700, he doesn't have a watch despite him running around whole of Singapore most of the time. So he will always take out Phone and check. I gave him a $100 Seiko but it broke after dropping on the floor I am the worst at this kind of things so it would be great if an experienced watch collector can advice me on where to buy a decent watch at the above budget.. Thanks in advance and Sorry for hi-jacking thread..

Thanks in advance and Sorry for hi-jacking thread.. I bought a Rado automatic for my dad (I think it was around $900, definitely below a thousand), and he loves it. Good, affordable watch, very strong and durable. Disclaimer: I'm not a watch expert by any means, just sharing my experience. Skunk Clutched December 27, 2011 Share December 27, 2011 I'm also not a watch guy but u can't expect much out of a $100 watch...$600 or $700 definitely can get something of a better quality, though not of the league the others here r talking abt lol I think watches r very personal, I suggest u ask him to choose one n u pay for it, this way better. But this watchwerkz strap is not genuine alligator. It is alligator-embossed grain on calf. If you want this sort of alligator embossed grain, just buy the Paros brand. $10 - $12 at Rochor centre second floor, mahmood and sons.

Is UN "very accurate" also? Do you remember this dude called Richmanson? He had a very nice UN that he kept showing off here using photos from the internet. UN are considered haute Swiss watchmaker with in house designed and manufactured movements. The top end of their watches are very expensive also. If you want to read up more, go to the puristSpro forum. One of the best forums on haute horology. Edited December 27, 2011 by Viceroymenthol
