it was to commemorate 50th anniversary tha they use. diff color bezel.

everything is basically still the same.

it would of course be limited base on that.

until it became regular production.

however the actual 50th yr batch serial would be limited.

at least there was good reason to commemorate.

Ic ic, hmmm, when was the 50th year? Was it 2007? So should find one made in that year?

Ooohhh sub lv ah, that one nice but i am keen into LV watches as not many ppl wearing it unlike rolex, so common

End of the day, the watch should be appreciated by the wearer and buyer, so just buy whatever you like

that is called true rare and vintage not purposely produce 500 and call it limited edition to raise the price and create a demand. in otherwords marketing gimmick.

thats also why i dont take to AP too much. they love to do that, way way too often.

to me, i feel it loses its true value. i hope rolex doesnt go that way.

these are the same opinions i express on other watch forum i've posted

its same as collecting high value art. Very illiquid coz not many buyers, but becoz of small mkt, price can get super high due transactions being so far apart. Having siad that, this type of asset may not move for a very long time before being able to realize any gains. But if u get a gem, they do protect from inflation, whihc is better than cash returns

Didnt follow price, is it so costly still ?

I remember when it first came out, my friend got one from London.

Looked really cool.

He also got a ProHunter series, i see until blur becos never knew it existed before.

This was quite many years ago.

But i never had the urge to get the 50th ann Sub although i do find it nice.

Brudder brudder, you indeed know your Rolexes....I went to a fairly repuatable shop and got 2 for sale, a 2009 one for $8800, and a 2008 one for $8300, I wonder why the price difference?

difference with

1) condition

2) completeness ( whether with paper, box, etc )

3) named, unnamed ( whether warranty card is filled up )

Definitely a thread that let people feel poison on these watches. =)

I do not own such a high range watch, but I enjoy looking at them. =) I guess I learn a lot on this thread about Rolex. Nice one. =)

Thanks Bro, the AP's to me are more of a personal reminder of what I have been through to get to where I am now.

Some may like it, some may not, watches are all personal preference.

The one thing I can say is that by wearing a certain AP, it has got me noticed and invited to special events which I would not have otherwise been invited too. Amazing that a watch can open doors for you [cool]

I'm wearing a Cyma watch. I love it alot because it's a wedding gift, comes in a pair. Durable ah, despite all my fishing n boating activities, no corrosion, only changed battery. Only around $1k+ I think...

I used to wear a $100+ Citizen watch from Mustafa. Gorgeous ah pek look...silver with white face. Too bad now it's in a corner of my dusty drawer :( a man can only wear one watch at a time haha
