all the more there should be more accidents to remove poor, lousy or selfish drivers from the roads! safe, good and proper drivers will never get into needless accidents no matter what speed they drive at.

i've seen cars racing thru the bends on expressways at over 150km/h without even eating into the next lane, but all the time i see normal drivers who have to tap brakes and eat into the next lane despite travelling below the speed limits

You must hv saw cars capable of doing that kind of speed around bends. Altis is not one of them as it has bad bodyroll. You can be a good driver but you must know the capabilities/limitations of your car.

A good driver will not drive 150km/h thru that bend in Toyota Altis. Confirm up divider.

i am not sure if you guys had noticed this. Firstly recall Adam Road (Flyover over Bukit Timah) heading to Farrer Road. On the bend just past Serene Centre, you will notice successive road depressions on the 1st lane. I understand such depressions or holes are actually runoffs for rainwater. If you have cornered on 1st lane, you would have noticed that for sure.

Back to Lornie road. i observed that recently (or maybe far longer than i was aware of), such "depressions" are also found. Given that the lanes are very narrow for SGP standard, i am speculating that the "depressions" might have something to do with the driver's lost of control.

the lanes being narrower is no excuse for an accident, if you see that you can't overtake safely then don't. this accident must have been caused by yet another selfish driver who demands right of way.

just because you are on lane 1 doesn't mean that you have the right of way and don't need to bother about cars on the adjoining lane. whenever i'm on lornie lane i'll always try to drive on the middle lane, overtaking vehicles only when there is enough space on either my left or right and i actively try to avoid having 3 vehicles on a stretch of road at the same time

lornie road might have heavy traffic all the time but the traffic moves and a second spent here and there driving safely is little compared to an accident that would cause the entire stretch of road to completely freeze up

aiyah.. no lane discipline and no skill to keep lane discipline is a poor excuse.

some idiots will eat into your lane, whether lane 1, 2, 3 or 4...

you should never drive the same speed with the car beside you or you have them drifting into your lane for sure.

you see many idiots on the road. 1 slow truck or car or van in the middle lane of lornie and 2 cars on either side don't dare to overtake, you see the whole road choke up.

I'm not arguing who is right or wrong. just that these idiots drive slow and drive middle lane. I hope you are not 1 of those jokers.

Most lanes are about car width + 1.5 car door left and right. I notice Lornie road's is about car width + 0.75 door left and right. I wouldn't go so fast because i have no confidence in trusting that the cars in the adjacent lane will maintain lane discipline.

I usually make sure that my hand is within reach of horn. If something amiss, i will not hesitate to hold it until i song.

[laugh] same here. my left hand is like on standby on the car horn. as if that was the trigger of a GPMG.

its not true..the road is the same width as other roads..just that most cars are not confident of not hitting the divider..hence they encroached on other lanes..saw many lousy drivers did that..and its a 21 yr old male driver

yea, i often drive on tat road also.

always see kuku drivers on either side on lornie road cant keep to lane 1 and pek chek change to lane 2.

Expertz, based on your comment above, you also know good driver know how to keep good lane discipline.

lornie road has enough space for even trucks or buses to travel side by side. its all a matter of lane discipline.

Yep, countless times drivers makan my lane while doing many things, talking on phone, day dreaming or other nonsensical things.

Agree that lornie road is narrower especially at the bends, if you take our eye off the road at slightly higher speed will end up like this car [sweatdrop]
