Driving instructor arrested for molesting trainee

SINGAPORE : Police have arrested a 69-year-old driving instructor for outrage of modesty.

 

On 18 February 2012 at about 4.30pm, a 21-year-old woman reported to the police that she had been molested by her driving instructor during a driving lesson.

 

Officers from Central Police Division immediately commenced extensive enquiries and arrested the suspect on February 20 along Aljunied Road.

 

Investigations against the suspect are ongoing.

 

If convicted, the man could be jailed for up to two years, fined or caned.

 

Commander of Central Police Division, Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Police Tan Hung Hooi, advised members of the public who may have been molested to stay composed and call the police as soon as it is safe to do so.

Got my license from a big reputable driving school and during my student days, I have numerous instructors and they are, always on the prowl, olging at chio bu standing along the pavements, bus-stops, traffic junctions etc. Wonder how they tahan when one of those chio bu is in their car man.

Yeah true.. For all you know, they had an agreement that he would give her a pass for a certain practical lesson, in return for sexual favours.. Then after that she felt disgusted and reported to police..

The instructor isn't the one who decides if someone passes or not!

Think in future should implement in-car camera to track student/instructor behaviour within the vehicle. Not to be reviewed every now and then, but to serve as a backup for evidence should there be disputes such as this.

 

As someone mentioned, it is really student's words against instructor's.

 

Probably can also extend this feature to test cars to ensure that students are assessed accurately during tests.
