MadDog70 2nd Gear April 5, 2012 Share April 5, 2012 (edited) In terms of resale value, Merc has the highest, follow by BMW then Audi. I was told the material used in Audi is not that good, that's why lower resale value. Is that true? Silver_blade Turbocharged April 5, 2012 Share April 5, 2012 It may be the perceived prestige of each brand and for the older folks.....it could be about history. I have an old relative who will never buy a BMW or Audi b'cos he says Bimmer was only a bike maker 'not to long' ago and Audi is a 'new' brand, started way after WWII

Stiener 1st Gear April 6, 2012 Share April 6, 2012 It's all in the omv. Of the three, merc omv the most down to earth. That's is why it holds the value better. But u also need to understand the term willing buyer willing seller. I was told by a 2nd hand car dealer that OMV and Coe (paper value) is not important, qns is how many years I want to drive. Regardless of paper value, the car will still sell at market rate; I.e same car make and model and similar year, the car price is likely to be the same. Even if the Coe was $2 for an OPC car. He even says that the OPC car Coe will reflect as zero if it is below $17k rebate. From that minute, I know that he is not keen to do my business. Bomby929 1st Gear April 6, 2012 Share April 6, 2012 (edited) thats why I say willing buyer willing seller. COE ar $2 and the buyer willing to pay premium for the body for the market rate price, then either the sales did a good job or the buy obviously do not know what he/she is buying. Meanmachine Supercharged April 6, 2012 Share April 6, 2012 Either the car dealer is a freshie or his stock of cars are all with low COEs As we can see car dealer may not be wrong either, their trade figure tells a story of many car owner dumping car for newer one, It juz a senario of their trade experiences or secret, I may say, but then, COE was sky high adn OMV does play a part too, in term of buying a 2nd hand car simply for family ride, one wld do all the homework, calculations etc for resale value, as compared to a newbees who simply want to flash flash to impress his boss or galfren. I go with majority that Merc, BMW are neck to neck for resale value not in order of merits, however Merc does has an edge over the rest. Wad about Bentley, have seen so many tis days along Orchard Rd, driven by Chauffeur . . . Seen 4 Bentley yest
Bomby929 1st Gear April 6, 2012 Share April 6, 2012 You obviously dunno what the F you are talking about Then enlighten me please? OMV and COE gives the paper value of the car. How much more the buyer willing pay above that value is up to the buyer. Resale value of a car depends on OMV and COE and also a willing buyer at a higher resale value. If you ask me personally if I would buy Audi or BMW.. the answer is no. The selling price of these brands does not reflect in its OMV.

Thaiyotakamli Supersonic April 6, 2012 Share April 6, 2012 only bcos you drive audi If i drive beemer then i say diff thing liao But its true audi has the best fc.
