This is a long post man. [:p]

Having been with RV for the past 10 years and watch how RV grows and of course complains by customer due to their pricing strategy. This is not the first and will not be the last.

I have to admit their price is not the cheapest but their service to you as a package is good. (at least to me).

Many have mention parts being over charge etc, if you think in term of parts for parts cost, of cost there will be mark up but if you think in term as a whole system, if that part being bought by u have problem, who needs to talk to the stockist? is it U? Will you be able to resolve it? For me, i dun mind leaving it to Vincent but he have to solve all. If you think you have to knowledge to resolve the issue, definitely u can buy the part and change at other workshop. RV have changed a lot since 10 years ago and they have move on to more value-add job like diagnostic repair, all these are high cost and need more to absorb. End of the day, you as customer must be comfortable with them.

There is many good workshop out there, if RV do not suit you, just move along, find a good one and stay along with them. Just do your math and go where your brains tell U. [cool]

PS: As for Vincent relationship with his partners, as we are not inside the picture, it is better not to speculate. Let's do not get personal and stay focus on the parts issue, I will inform Vincent on this issue on my next servicing and hope he can address if parts is allow or not so as not to confuse his customer. I am sure he is very appreciative of all this feedback but to consider cost to operation, it will be RV calls.

Cheers Guys and have great Sunday. [cool]

Turbocharged

Vincent has the right to charge high high and make a better than decent living

We as consumers hv a right to walk away too, and share info on forum

There will always be teo sides to a story. Just decide whatu want and act accordingly, for me its always autosaver. Been there for eight yrs leow, no complains and they always happily oblige when u byo stuff.

Fully agree, just like couple of days ago, my 6mths old has fever with running nose, naturally, call her paediatric since born and guess what, the q is like 6to7 hours and the best part is I have to go down to register first, then go home and wait for their call which is like 6to7 hours later.. Im ok with the 6to7 later then go down but I can't stomach the rationale which require to go down to the clinic and register when the clinic has all my girls info.. So, my answer to them was, nevermind, I'll go somewhere else. Just drop by a gp nearer whic most of my family member visit... And she is recovering after 2 days of medication..

go to the ws which you are comfortable with. period..

Agree with you. If you look at the past threads on RV, it has always been the same familiar people bashing Vincent. There's always this same person who keeps harping on what Vincent is driving. Vincent is running a business, which ultimately is to satisfy his valuable customers, take care of his workers and make profit. Why you want to care how he spends his money? Does he need to consult you and satisfy you before deciding what he can drive? This is totally absurb.

I do not think this will be the last thread for bashing RV. But I am sure this will certainly create awareness and help to drive away those who are not prepared to pay for the surcharge for BYO parts or agreeable to the servicing fees imposed by RV. In a way it is advantage to RV as they can focus more on those customers who appreciate their service better. Whether this business model adopted by Vincent is sustainable or not, it is for Vincent to answer. No one is in a position other than him to criticize his business model. For those who thinks this model does not work, just drop by RV anytime during business hours and you will get the answer first hand if it works.

So to those bashers, please move on and stop all your criticisms since you have found your ideal workshop. We keep hearing the same old songs like a broken record for so many years. Don't you feel tired? I am sure there are better things to do out there.

Enjoy your Sunday and Labor Day! Cheers

I have removed my earlier post about partnership at riverview. I made a mistake. The personal attack was not warranted and it was uncalled for. I have called Vincent and he has accepted my apology.

Just to clarify. This post was deleted by Moderator based on apology expressed by mkl22, not me.

Hopefully this will serve as a lesson learnt for forumers to post responsibly.

riverview is fully entitled to charge whatever they feel is fair, the high charges that turn people away might be good thing for them, coz then only the willing car owners will keep going back, without having to wait too long for their car to be attended to.

i find their charges too high, and luckily for me, i found a workshop that is competent with my make and model. so i'm happy.

What's your workshop? Can pm me

confirmed. coz i read it off my own bill.

the $75 is labour for oil change plus dunno-how-many-point check. $25 is penalty for bringing own oil.

Thanks for highlighting this.

i stopped going RV since one of their partner break away from RV and started his own workshop @ sin ming ....

the so-called friendly boss at RV is only lip service. i know they are in biz but they are getting more commericalised, and lack of personal touch

wish them success.

What's the name of the other break away partner workshop?
