Grix17 Clutched April 30, 2012 Share April 30, 2012 (edited) I was toying with the idea of downsizing from an MPV to a large sedan. I have been looking around and have not really found a sedan suitable for 5 adults. It seems that they are always designed for 4 or 4.5. Anyone knows why? Nonetheless Clutched April 30, 2012 Share April 30, 2012 (edited) it's because of the width... everyone needs a little bit of personal space... i believe u are considering mid size/compact sedan right? if is large luxury sedan, it should be able to fit 5 comfortably.... like 7, S class, A8, LS, and some fwd luxury sedans (due to the fact they have a lower "hump" in the middle) like S80, camry, teana and accord... etc should be able to fit 5 comfortably... Nonetheless Clutched April 30, 2012 Share April 30, 2012 i dun think rwd sedans like E, 5 and GS is capable to fit 5 comfortably due to the high "hump" at the back...
Galantspeedz Turbocharged April 30, 2012 Share April 30, 2012 Get the wider sedans. Royal Crown, Camry, Cefiro/Teana, E-Class, Accord, 5-er ... sure can seat 5. 5-er the axle in the middle not a hindrance? try the saab
Bobztoise 1st Gear April 30, 2012 Share April 30, 2012 If you are considering S Class or 7 series price range, why not go for SUV? Jap makes dun have the transmission tunnel at rear seats so very comfy For sedans, sitting 3 adults at rear with the transmission tunnel is quite uncomfortable
Nzy Twincharged April 30, 2012 Share April 30, 2012 If you occasionally sit 5 only then should be ok. Singapore is quite small la. So the distance still bearable. Unless you are planning to use for driving up to malaysia. I also have 5 adults in my car occasionally and mine is just a small sedan.

Grix17 Clutched April 30, 2012 Author Share April 30, 2012 If you are considering S Class or 7 series price range, why not go for SUV? Actually, I'm not going so upmarket to S Class or 7 series. But I realise SUVs are equally narrow inside.

I'm toying with the idea because when we finally stop hiring a FDW, I can put my 3 kids at the back. The problem is the booster seats - all 3 still on them, although my oldest will stop soon. But I miss the handling of a decent sedan despite the renowned Ford handling.
Grix17 Clutched April 30, 2012 Author Share April 30, 2012 Btw, I wasn't suggesting the higher-end luxury sedans. The furthest I will go is the Audi A4 because I don't wish to increase my expenditure that much more. It seems that I will be stuck with MPVs until all 3 kids are done with booster seats. Get A6 or 5-er for wider space camry cefiro all these cars about the same as E class wide

Moreover u dont get the space u paid for A8, S class or 7 series in SUV. Forget about MPV, they are not for driving experience, R class still can included in the list as handling not bad

I will do the same when my youngest outgrows her child seat which is taking up so much space. But while I still have my MPV, I am enjoying the slightly elevated seating and better all-round vision of the traffic. ↡ Advertisement
