Thanks will take a look around.

Is the BTS damn crowded during peak hours?

BTS was worse than our mrt during peak hours. Take the cab and enjoy the ride in comfort. Otherwise do brisk walking.

Also can try Centara or Grand Diamond(if u dont mind 1970's deco).

Trying to plan a holiday trip to BKK with my friends' families

My friend is going to stay at siam kempinksi which looks great but kinda expensive (since it doesn't have a double twin room)

what about pathumwan princess?

The novotel bangkok ploenchit looks good if i really want a cheaper place and don't mind a BTS ride.

Grand Diamond room is huge. Got kitchenette, dinning table and coffee table. The tv can rotate between living room and bedroom. But condition and deco not good.

My wife like Glow cos downstairs is the famous wanton mee street and shopping. Berkeley also she like cos next door is a pasar malam. I dont know anything about these two rooms condition. Never stayed.

Best is stay near the area u wana spend the most time at. Pratunam is good for shopping and walkable to lots of places, even to MBK.

Around that area the Renaissance Ratchaprasong is a pretty good hotel if you can get it at below $200 a night.

Nice deco, great service and good location. It's just a short walk from the Chitlom BTS, which is one stop from Siam BTS where Siam Paragon is. There is also a spa (D'Rest Spa) at the building that links with Chitlom BTS that is pretty good too. That area is also a very short walk to places like Big C next to Gaysorn Plaza, Central World across the road and Pratunam further down via the Skywalk.

Pathumwan Princess is pretty OK, nothing fancy in terms of rooms (unless you book the famiy suite) but meets all needs. It's also a short air-conditioned walk inside MBK Shopping Centre leading to the National Stadium BTS which is one stop to Siam. Siam Square is just across the road where you can look for food etc. There is also a Tesco further down the road if you need supermarket.

Novotel Ploenchit is a nice hotel with good service at a reasonable price. Only thing is that the room is much smaller and can be quite cramped compared to the 2 mentioned above. But they give good quality bath essentials and location-wise, it is just a stairway up directly to Ploenchit BTS, which is 2 stops away from Siam, and if you're heading to Asok or Nana (Terminal 21, Emquartier), its closer too.

Depending on what your kids like and their ages, there actually isn't much fun stuff for kids.

I guess if you hang around Siam Paragon, there's the Ocean World and also Kidszania.

There's also the Marvel Experience now in Bangkok if they're into Avengers and stuff.

Other than that there are some animal cafes (e.g. Cat cafe, Husky cafe that they can explore).

I guess some kids might just enjoy experiencing a Tuk Tuk or Boat ride and some sightseeing, though not all.

When I brought my kids, I tried to take them to places that either fit their interest or to expose them to curious, unusual things they don't usually get to experience in SG. If they're not too scared, you can bring them to the Siriraj Medical Museum, or do some urban exploring at Sathorn Unique Tower. Maybe even visit the Mae Nak Shrine at Wat Mahabut. My kids are also into sports and football so I usually bring them to the big sports stores, and even take them to attend football matches ( e.g. National Youth/Schools Tournament, Thai Premiere League or National Team games) or Volleyball games.

So really depends on what they like and if you're OK to travel a bit away from the usual touristy stuff.

My girl can go kidzania + maybe another one, but the others are still the too young.

If i want to stay around Siam Paragon area, any hotels to recommend?

@Lala81

I usually stay Holiday Inn express opposite MBK

It's cheaper if you are IHG member and book direct with the. Rate includes breakfast

I be going BKK in Nov but driving to Pattaya for fishing

Nice place but a bit out of way

If they like animals, bring them to Chatuchak Market

or this small snake farm cum hospital

last i went i stayed in S15 sukhumvit boutique hotel, one block away from Terminal 21, or you can Four Points by Sheraton also around that area. I find Asok area less crowded quite peaceful, yet can still take BTS to places.

Then should just go to Hua Hin, get a good hotel there.

Food is also cheaper than BKK. You will not regret.

Ask @ Adrianli and he will agreed.

Terminal 21 food court has good quality food with street food price.

My friend said Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 not bad.

If not, Sofitel lor.

In the vicinity of Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT station.

There is a park nearby for jogging in the morning.
