Sp4wn Turbocharged May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 The news reported that the owner himself keeps pumping in fuel after the auto-stop, fuel spill out from the nozzle and cause the flash fire. Weird for a owner of a high end car to want to pump fuel to the brim.....maybe he forgot and think he is still in JB pumping cheap petrol? well .. i made this same mistake before. uncle ask me if wanna push in a bit more .. i told him go ahead ... and then there was some backspray and som dripped down the side of the car. luckily, just left home to pump gas so engine not hot. the best part is, the tan chong guys told me not to do so, but i thought what the heck .. all the other cars ive driven before got no problem to squeeze in a couple more litres ... yup never made that mistake every again. well for one thing, the caltex (in the east side) i go to always complains about a certain porsche driver who treats the entire gas station like his servants. he will actually call them over to pump his gas while they are attending to someone else. he has asked them to clean windscreen, rims, bodywork. he will actually chide them if they dont pump for him as he doesnt do it himself ... my point is to give this guy a break if he was pumping gas himself. a lot of supercar owners think pumping gas is beneath them ... lastly, if memory serves me right, one of the guys at hong seh used to tell me there was almost no difference between 98 and vpower. but this was also about 8-10 years ago. ↡ Advertisement

Tom_kkh 1st Gear May 19, 2012 Share May 19, 2012 (edited) possibly never off engine.. iirc in the 80s and even early 90s, many ppl pump petrol without off engines. at least my father did. how does not off engine while pumping petrol will catch fire? btw can claim insurance a not?
