Ericongy 3rd Gear June 6, 2012 Share June 6, 2012 I'm holding 2 HDB season parkings currently - one for my own home, one for carpark at my parent's place. For the latter, i wasn't able to apply for the Family Parking scheme (which is 50% of normal season parking rate) because HDB claims that the carpark is a "hot carpark". Pardon me but this FPS scheme is really a BS because you are at the mercy of how HDB categorizes the particular carpark. For my case, the next carpark available for FPS is 2 streets away (20minutes' walk!) i had to make 2 trips to the HDB office, demand to speak to the manager, then finally got myself a lot at my parent's place, but have to pay normal season parking rate, and can only park from 7am to 9pm (can't remember the exact timeframe though). I didn't have much time argue more with them because I can't keep taking time-off from work to go to the HDB office, and I really needed that lot because last time i drove OPC and had to drop my kid at my parent's place (i stay at Sengkang and my parents' place is at woodlands), park my car there then take mrt to office. So in summary, this FPS scheme is just a wayang to make them look nice (all the family-friendly schemes in place) but you can't use it even though you have valid reasons. And the irony of it -- lots suddenly become available when you are willing to pay in full! I just found out about the Family Parking Scheme yesterday and was looking forward to save almost $50/mth... but now it seems like i will suffer the same fate as the carpark at my mom's place should also be consider as "hot carpark" as parking at the roof of the MSCP is a norm.... ↡ Advertisement
Mllcg 3rd Gear June 6, 2012 Share June 6, 2012 Please check with HDB. But right the $10 should apply to all HDB carpark. Not sure how the ERP carpark can comply with the $10 rule. But very sure manual carpark max is $10 per day. i thought $10 is for day time only? night time need pay the $4 separately?
Labixiaoxin Clutched June 6, 2012 Share June 6, 2012 I believe one is HDB the other is URA? Different agencies... a letter to proof you are working at the company nearby the HDB estate b4 they grant you to purchase season parking. By the way you are only allowed to park till 10pm at nite. Its EPS parking.
13177 Hypersonic June 9, 2012 Share June 9, 2012 If you have proof (company letter) to state that you are working at the area and HDB will allow you to purchase but parking is from 7am to 7pm only cos resident parking there could have left for work in the day. If your office at CBD area, sorry, season parking is under URA and minimum is $180/- per month.... and free after 5pm. So still required document proof to buy HDB parking la. But wonder those HDB flats located in CBD area, their carpark still consider under HDB? Like those in tanjong pagar plaza and bras basah complex etc. And those open carpark in CBD area, season parking is $180 per month???!
SimonTan 2nd Gear June 10, 2012 Share June 10, 2012 I guess if the HDB carpark that you want is not selling. Then the next best choice is to buy the $300 season pass. This will allow you to park in that HDB lot nearest to your office, notwithstanding there is no free lots for sale.

I think even they sell you the season parking, also doesnt 100% mean you will get a lot when you drive into that carpark.

In theory, daytime office hours should have available lots in most HDB carpark, even those popular ones near markets or offices.

Lol, in practical it might not have available lots, esp those popular ones located in town area and CBD.
Samyeow Neutral Newbie June 11, 2012 Share June 11, 2012 Free parking after 5pm only applies to lots outside the CBD. Lats within the CBD are payable till 10.30pm. HDB car parks are normally reserved for residents. You can, however, appeal at the HDB car park office and if the car park you want to apply for is not that full, they will allow. Dark_flan 2nd Gear June 13, 2012 Share June 13, 2012 As topic suggests, possible. I have 2 season parking, one at home and the other at residential area near workplace. It overall whether the officer at the branch office want to give you or not. They did mentioned there is still available lots at the carpark so they give it to me. But still had to walk 20 mins on foot to reach office. Office building's parking still need balloting and more expensive.. Lucky no more working there anymore and gotten free parking at new office. The hdb carpark you buy is inside the CBD area or outside the CBD area? If need to walk 20 min from the carpark to your office, consider quite far. Maybe take public transport nearer?! If you are lucky, you can still buy normal season parking for the car park at your mom's place. For me, I can't get season parking at my parents' place, even after appealing. And the car parks around the area all cannot support the family parking scheme.
