Golfmatic Neutral Newbie May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 Bro Golfmatic, Thanks for sharing, a good plumber contact is always handy during "Water Crisis" My lifetime water crisis happened once and is unforgettable , I wanted to fix a hook with wall plug under my kitchen basin to hang my heavy wok, started to drill the marked point and suddenly water flushing out from hole right into my drill bit and machine, blindly because I hit the hidden water supplying pipe in side the wall tiles Speechless for almost an hour thinking what to do next, luckily my wife kept a very old phone book recorded a plumber contact , he did turn-up to save our family out of this water crisis You are welcome. I have 3 plumbers' mobile phone numbers handy all the time. Because, like you, I had situations that became worse when I did my own DIY solutions. Once I jet-sprayed my wash basin and the power of the jet broke the PVC pipe beneath the sink. Another time I thought my WC did not look right - as if it was shifted slightly to one side. I shifted it back and water started leaking from the base of the toilet bowl.
Robin 4th Gear May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 You are lucky, able to clear the choke so easily. Our toilet bowl in common toilet choked during the recent CNY. Tried using the rubber pump, chemicals, wire snake. Jialat, all the "golden pieces" floating in the bowl, almost overflowing. Had to keep the common toilet closed, and CNY guests had to use the master bedroom toilet. Let the liquid drained off slowly through the clog after several days. Removed the water tank, removed the toilet bowl, straightaway saw the reason for the clog : a scrubber brush [commonly called coconut brush] was stuck at the outlet of the toilet bowl. * after cleaning the floor during CNY spring-cleaning, I must had pour the dirty water together with the scrubber brush into the toilet bowl. * subsequently toilet papers got entangled with the scrubber brush to choked almost 99% of the outlet of the toilet bowl. yah kinda lucky for pipe leak i bought some of those epoxy sealant from giant and DYI took a few days for the sealant to harden to stop the leak didnt want to call a plumber cos am afraid i kana chop carrot
13177 Hypersonic May 22, 2013 Share May 22, 2013 if you staying in HDB, call your town council. they have authorised contractors on call and their prices are not expensive because town council control them. Maybe i can try the contractors stated on the town council directory?!

Mcf777 Turbocharged May 22, 2013 Share May 22, 2013 agreed. town council the best. look out for their directory usually at the lobby area notice board. aunty lucy give it a miss if the plumber name is called mr aw. but always beware....most of the plumbers always carried a parang knife. they always strike when it is hot. by the time, things cool down, your money already fly off. Mcf777 Turbocharged May 22, 2013 Share May 22, 2013 if plumber dont know how to do the job, they just quote high high and take the transport fee.
13177 Hypersonic May 25, 2013 Share May 25, 2013 Many times when the plumber charge you of changing this and that, you also would not know whether you got carrot or not, as you cannot find a market rate price list for plumbing service. So if the plumber change one pipe and tell you $100, you will pay since maybe $100 to you is not say very expensive.
Rustyz 5th Gear May 25, 2013 Share May 25, 2013 (edited) Factor the sai and smell in.$100 just give lo. After all not like your pipe get choked so easily.
