If unmarked polis car in Malaysia tried to stop me

I also won't stop. I will drive to the nearest polis

station and see if the car come in also. If fake

polis then they won't come in.

:D

Show them middle finger and drive off. [:p]  you never know who is who. [mad]

Last tum got one "unmarked" proton on road shoulder, on NSH.  Saw me cruising on lane 1.  Start the engine n tried to drive across lane 2 and block me on lane 1.  Even hand came out of proton waving. Applying what Ah Beng Driving School thought me, I throw high beam, gas down and the proton siam back to lane 2.  One of my most exciting drive in history.  I will tell my grand children one day [;)]

It's a personal choice really. I too find it amusing to see grown-up adults claiming they are so experienced visiting JB, only to come back crying about being robbed and having their cars stolen. It's quite sad how pampered and ignorant some Singaporeans can be.

It is all about risk and reward, if you have never set foot into JB and only read all those negative news reports on crime there, you will only see the risks and the maths will never add up for you as you are missing out the other side of the equation.

The reward is actually the one that is "to each his/ her own", the risks in terms of crime numbers are all there and they can be quantified. Risk can be managed and mitigated but never eliminated.

So ignorance in this context is relative.

What started as a routine trip to Kuala Lumpur turned into a nightmare for a Singaporean businessman.

Mr Herman Zaidin, 31, was driving home to Singapore alone along the North-South Highway near Simpang Renggam in Johor on Sunday evening when a group of more than 10 men assaulted and robbed him.

wah getting more brazen. Used to only try to run people off the road (my cousin kana before).

I think the make of your car matters in this scenario where they choose their target.

He's lucky but his eye ... jialat. Probably some vision loss liao.

That's why those shit about fighting is all BS. All it takes is one punch to damage an eye.

nothing much you can do in such attacks.

Ten men vs 1 stuck in a jam.

Even if u had a parang, i think more likely u will be overpowered and chopped to death.

Yeah, you are robbed and beaten with all those drivers/ cars surrounding you (stuck in a jam) and no one stepped forward to help. It may be difficult to do so too as violence is very likely given the numerical strength of the gang.

The gang is going round doing this to SG drivers (this happened to a friend's friend too), demanding a ransom. Think i am going to avoid JB for a while, especially at night, till this menace is eliminated.

JOHOR BARU, MALAYSIA - A 44-year-old Singaporean chef was allegedly beaten up by three men with baseball bats in Johor Baru on Wednesday (Dec 14) morning.

He had reportedly approached the men with a parang or knife to recover a debt of RM500 (S$161) from one of them when they attacked him.

The incident occurred at 7.30am at Jalan Sutera outside Taman Sentosa, Shin Min Daily News reported on Thursday.

Speaking to Shin Min from a hospital in Johor, Mr Fong Teck Keong said he was trying to retrieve money owed to him when he was beaten.

He had met his alleged attacker at a games centre. The man borrowed RM500 from Mr Fong about six months ago.

Mr Fong said he spotted his borrower with two other men coming out of a nightclub on Wednesday morning, and asked for his money back while wielding a parang.

"I just wanted to scare them, that's all, and I didn't hurt them. But they picked up baseball bats and hit my head," he said.

Johor Baru South district police chief Asst Comm Sulaiman Salleh told Shin Min the police went to the scene and found a 44-year-old Singaporean man lying by the road, with injuries to his head and body.

He was taken to hospital.

Police are investigating the case of voluntary hurt caused by dangerous weapons.

If convicted, the suspects will be jailed for up to three years, fined and or whipped.

In a video of the assault that has been making its rounds online, Mr Fong is shown being beaten by men with baseball bats and tries to retaliate but is outnumbered.

Mr Fong told Wanbao that he was on a drip and needed more than 30 stitches for the wound on his head.

He added that he did not have money on him and has contacted his family through the hospital and hopes to return to Singapore soon.

Mr Herman told TNP he drives to the Malaysian capital almost weekly for business trips.

Robbers probably target him knowing this.

One of the men then took out a spanner and used it to smash his windscreen.

Seeing this, Mr Herman decided to wind down his window to talk to the men.

He said: "I had no choice as my window could have been broken next. I had to talk to them to find out exactly what they wanted.

Mr Herman continued his journey home after filing a report. By the time he got to the Tuas Checkpoint, it was already about 3am on Monday.

There, police and immigration officers saw his bruises and asked him what happened.

They called for an ambulance, but he declined the service as he wanted to go home first to park his car.

I think he cares for his car more than his own safety.

Reminds me of a case in Brunei, one guy in a car accident injured but refuse to go in the ambulance. When asked why he said he just installed a new stereo in his car and wanted to make sure it was safe.  [thumbsup]
