Guess it is inevitability EV will be 100% in SG soon if there is no change in gov policies.

My areas I already saw some EV avoiding higher charged price station, and the lower price station are mostly occupied. Now with trickle charge feature on some EV, guess some drivers will abuse it. 

The price-sensitive thingy, remind me of the HDB red lots car park beside Woodleigh Mall, it is always occupied with some luxury cars that are non-residents of the HDB flats. The resident complaint many times, the cars kena summon many times, but the luxury cars still park at the red lots as the drivers can afford the summon. What I am trying to say those drivers who are price sensitive will try to stretch their dollars. 

there is a grace period before idling charges kick in. usually, it's 30 mins, more than enough for anyone to move their cars. and if one knows how to manage the charging tactic (which they will), hitting grace period will not happen.

turnaround time, although fast, is still time spent for a specific task. unlike charging, where multitasking makes more efficient use of time.

higher priced station vs lower priced station.. it's not a situation unique to EVs. its like higher priced SPC vs lower prices Cnergy.. people still make a trip and queue.

trying to stretch dollars, i understand what you mean.

i think we can all agree that EV ownership is not for everyone at this point of time. just wanna highlight that the "issues" brought up, are really non-issues.

you key in the destination, the navi will calculate and tell you the tesla supercharger enroute that you should stop at, and for how long to charge, before moving on to your journey to your destination with the % battery left.

but there's also ICE cars who park at season lots when they're not season parkers.

Like you mentioned, one should do whatever is convenient and makes the most sense when it comes to charging the car. Great that you have your own AC charging paying home rates or cheaper if you do solar. It's the best scenario for any EV owner. 

There are also studies which mention there is actually no discernable effect on the battery's lifespan between regular AC or DC charging, as most modern EVs which we can buy today have that managed by the BMS (battery management software) and active liquid cooling of the battery pack to manage the temperature during charging. Yes, it isn't uncommon to hear my car's radiator fan working from the outside when the car is plugged in charging on a hot day. 

Also, it depends on how much current and power you are charging with when using DC. For SP's 50kW, my car can at most pull 400 volts and 100+ Amps out of the DC charger. That translates to about 40kW power. It really isn't that much higher or faster when compared to say, a 22kW 3-phase AC charger. I would reckon there's probably not too much of a difference in battery pack temperatures when using a low powered 50kW DC charger. 

Tesla's Superchargers however, can supply at least 300 Amps of current so that's how its possible for Teslas to hit at least 150kW power even though the cars are on 400V architecture. But Teslas cars and their superchargers are likely to have sophisticated software/hardware purpose built to manage the foreseeable problem. Else, most of the super high mileage Teslas overseas surviving on supercharger network would have kaput a long time ago.

From my understanding, yes DC charge isn't healthy for the battery due to the extreme heat generated causing chemical and physical stress within the battery. 

But this isn't going to affect most of us cos our car ownership is typically less than 10 years, and people change cars earlier than that. 

So no worries with DC in the SG car ownership context.

Unless one wants to drive 20 years or more into a vintage, but I believe this is likely only a very rare minority.

I need to add also, manufactures battery warranty 8 to 10 years, this means even DC charge unlikely degrade the battery to 70% or below.. so no worries..

Submitted once thru One Service on one EV parked at charging port without plugging in. But don’t know how effective is this One Service and what action did they taken?!

Even if they don't send people down, they can use the submitted photo to send the owner a love letter. Just a few clicks in their backend 😂

We just observe if this happens again, then keep reporting if it does.

Hard to imaging latest EV today don't have some sort of smart cooling system to keep the traction battery temp at optimum  to last that 10 years lifspan. Some battery makers even patent their cooling tech just to stay ahead of the competition, like this Tesla battery with inner liquid-cooled design between cells.

IMHO, Elon long ago aware SG Gov held a dim view at EV.

Remember that infamous story on LTA imposed S$15,000 carbon surcharge on SG-registered Telsa S claiming their test shows that EV is "not “carbon emissions-free” ?

The Telsa boss heard about this and called PM Lee, who happened to visit his Tesla plant a month later. LTA then promised to "review" carbon evaluation.

Wanna POFMA Elon? That will make SG look like a No#1 idiot ahead of what our Bolehland gov is doing to EV ownership now.

There is one car everyday will stop and wait along a main road at certain timing. Sent to one service few times liao, but this car still continue to stop and wait everyday. 😅 So I doubt if the authorities has taken any action.

Yes, one service will work, I submitted a few times and they do response. If it is non EV park in EV lot, call  1800-3386622, the bike will come within 30min. I am champion in this.

In the One Service, you can follow up on the 'service' they provide until you are happy.. they can BS you, but you keep reporting the same guy and feedback the same violation on different days, I don't believe they can still BS you that action is taken.

Worst case, your can be the ultimate nasty.. lodge a complain to HDB quality department.. they will surely do something.. to the officer and the car owner 😬
