Watches 2

There are two that you are looking at: 15202 and 15300 royal oak.

Both are SS with bracelet.

15202 houses the JLC movement.

15300 houses in-house AP movement.

15202 is more desirable cos rare and out of production.

15202 got no brand new unless new old stock. Unlikely to get it preowned for low-teens.

15300 bramd new is around $18 plus, close to 20 depending on AD or gray dealer. 15300 preowned, possible low teens.

Bro, some advice needed from you since you are AP pro..

Thinking of a Scuba. Look quite nice. Neat and clean look.

Don't really like the complicated look of the ones with chrono.

Saw on SWX about 16-17k.

Is the price considered good? New how much?

Noticed the ones with chrono only about 2-3k more. Izzit better value?

why u and throttle the same one ah.. low tens become low teens [gorgeous]

now still have 15300 brand new? thought its 15400 liao.

i prefer the 15300 due the the AP at 12 o'clock. i read there was some problem with the 3120 movement.. do u know if it affects those watches produced in 2007?

how much is servicing for an AP?

thanks ah

Yeah sorry I am a little out of touch. Didn't know there was a 15400 out almost a year already, haha.

Anyway those were the prices for 15202 and 15300 (now replaced by 15400).

For 15400 I would expect the brand new prices to be similar to the 15300 when it was in production.

For problems with the 3120 it is best to consult a watchmaker or technician... I only know how to buy, wear and sell haha...

Servicing for AP depending on the model is in the region of 4 digits. I have never paid for servicing cos I have extended warranty on top of the standard warranty and I have never owned any AP beyond warranty period.

I have sent APs in to the service centre for polishing before and each time it had cost me $600+. It is worth it because these are certified AP technicians/artisans and if you appreciate the finely bevelled edges and perfectly balanced angles of an AP RO and offshore case and bezel, you will know that sending to a 3rd party polisher/technician is NOT an option.

Well normally people do not use the word "value" and AP in the same sentence. So if you hate the chrono look then by all means go for the Scuba or Diver. No right or wrong because there isn't a PE ratio, NTA or anything like that.

Scubas have been out of production for a few years already, back then there were orange, blue and red colour options. Now the Scuba is replaced by the Diver, in only one color (black) and numerics replaced by bar markers.

[laugh] sorry about 'value', force of habit.

But 16-17 is a good price? No?

How much was it when new?

Yeah $16-$17 is about there..... depends on the condition also.... How much when new.... not too sure cos very few AD outlets carried this.... mostly imported by gray dealers / parallels...

Yeah it is about there for BNIB PI set. Maybe there are some slightly cheaper ones, I haven't really been looking.

If you can drop spare cash of 17k on a whim for a watch, there is no need to hunt around or wait long long for a set that is a couple hundred dollars cheaper.... just bargain a bit and buy if you like it and if it is what it advertised (BNIB, 100% condition, etc). I would gladly pay more if it is truly 100% BNIB, virgin leather (in your case, rubber), etc

Problem with SWX and SGROC is there are many liars.... for example, BNIB is not really BNIB. So it is good to check out the watch case, strap and other details closely if you are anal about this sort of thing.
