Anyway sidetrack abit, book my flight on the 1st of Sep on Thai *TG402*, going with a batch of friends and office mates, they will be coming back on the 4th but i have intention of extending till at least 6th Sep, so the question i wan to ask is if i should take this chance and upgrade to 1 way biz class frm BKK-SG instead of 1 way economy on thai?

Online only show 3 or 4 types of fares and they dont tell u the types of class u are book.

There are a total of 8 different types of economy classes. T.v.n.q.e.b.y.s

Only about 2-2.5 hrs flight time, not point upgrading imho. Better to keep the points to redeem future flights if I were you.

Just my 2 cts worth..... [laugh]

I always like to tell people who complain about flight delay due to technical problems:

"Would you prefer to fly on a plane with problems?"

Agreed to disagreed

I was kept inside the plane for a good 3 hrs under the late morning hot sun without air condition, the air conditioner broke down

Everyone with perspired wet clothes

Common sense tell that they should least send us back to the airport waiting area instead of parking somewhere near the runway troubleshooting

And continue to serve us cold water only

Adult was shouting, young kids and infants crying

Hmm.. then this is something which they did wrong.. if i were you, i'd bring it up to the highest level of their management..

I would expect that the airport security would not issue clearance to disembark passengers.

Could be? I was told by the senior steward that they are arranging another replacement flight for us when the plane was 1 hr down

Upon 2 hr down i follow up they replied still arranging

For a good 2 ~3 hours they are arranging

It is a white lie [laugh]

that time SQ delayed my flight from BKK to SIN. The delay was 3hrs...which i could have reached SG by then.

Luckily it was a full service airline so we were given US10 vouchor + a box of choco for apology. The 747 that came to fetch us was old and tattered. LOL

I had the chance to be in business class from SIN-CGK on Lufthansa 'cos over-booking on economy class and it's really comfortable. Just when I was about to fall asleep, the cb pilot announced that we're landing soon. Bo pian only about 1 hr's flight time...... [:p]

there are so many types of prices on SQ flight. Around 15 prices for a Single Economy class ticket.

SQ is still the preferred Airlines for Singapore Businessman.

Look at their quarterly profit margin. Amazing!!!!

Compare to other Airlines who are still in the RED and struggling to make ends meet.

Er.. they just reported loss last qtr...

My experience with code sharing for SQ is, the flight is super expensive compared to flights operated by their own. Example, SIN-NRT-SIN, I managed to get SGD600+ on SQ operated flight, but those with code sharing on ANA costs almost 3K for economy.

Not sure if this is so if it's the other way round.

I guess, SQ in this case has to pay "slot" cost to ANA which could be pretty high.

On the other hand, for Indian Airline, SQ could have sold the unsold "slots" at a bargain to Indian Airline.....???

From my experience is that these code-share flights are more ex. That's what I found out when trying to book for my business trips to Germany and Malaysia at least. <_<

Well.. they need to activate an empty plane to fly in from Singapore.. SG-HKG flight takes approx 3 hrs, so it's probably justifiable..
