Unless u are senior staff travel on staff ticket, no way u can get upgraded almost all your trips Possible. Out of my 2 trips this month. Both times on the flight back to SG I got upgraded to Business class. Previously also had been upgraded to business class many times already. Unless u are senior staff travel on staff ticket, no way u can get upgraded almost all your trips agree with u, quoting from internal sources as well as my contacts who r mostly lifetime/Solitaire PPS members. They have been complaining alot abt this as they take J or F on long haul flights, but have to squeeze with the cattle class (<4hrs) on short regional flights. I remember there was once when i travel in SQ, think whole flight should be less than 20 persons, and noticed that the business class no people but also didnt get to upgrade?! May not be popular now but more airlines will start buying them especially when backlog of new plane orders are piling up. Soon its either you wait 5 years for your new plane or consider alternatives. 748 may not be first choice but if thats the only one where you dont have to wait too long to get them, then some orders may be pushed to them Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Probably if you check in and just happens that someone waiting to buy a ticket last min then you'll get it lo. I didn't check in last min.
