to really have a good conclusion...those survey should be a person who have travel on all the airlines before...else how to know if one airline is relatively better than the other...but for someone who have travel on all the top 10 airlines within a year...I doubt he or she will have the time to take a survey...

 

I personally only manage to clock the below 6 of them...ha ha...but not within the last one year....probably two...

that time SQ delayed my flight from BKK to SIN. The delay was 3hrs...which i could have reached SG by then.

 

Luckily it was a full service airline so we were given US10 vouchor + a box of choco for apology. The 747 that came to fetch us was old and tattered. LOL

 

hmm....a USD10 voucher & a box of choc to me seems alittle too stingy. Perhaps u could have gotten more if u 'complained' further...

I take SQ every month for work. I think physically the planes are no longer as awe-inspiring as say, 2-3 years ago. Small things like the newer lavs don't have leather covers; light switches are now in toy-looking plastic rather than chrome; some entertainment buttons are hard to press. But I can live with that.

 

What I find problematic is the level of service is not as good as before. Had to ask 2-3 times for water; got the wrong meal / wrong drink served more than once; and the WEBSITE! Why can't they ever get the frigging website to work properly! That is a major source of irritation for me as a frequent flyer and a big question mark over their commitment to excellence. Also, when I was entitled to a refund for a downgraded ticket, it took them THREE MONTHS to refund my money and up to today (six months later), they can't produce a receipt to show why they refunded what they did. So there's something wrong in the back end.

 

I'm not saying SQ is a bad airline, but clearly senior management is no longer keeping tabs on service quality the way they used to.

Sia third. Mas in tenth.. Tis only shows that sinkie is losing out to even malaysia .. After 10 years sia will be tenth and mas probably top 5 if sinkeland is lucky

Thats why mas is king! They can incur billions of losses but still ranked tenth in the world. Isnt that remarkable???

I was kept inside the plane for a good 3 hrs under the late morning hot sun without air condition, the air conditioner broke down

Everyone with perspired wet clothes

Common sense tell that they should least send us back to the airport waiting area instead of parking somewhere near the runway troubleshooting

And continue to serve us cold water only

Adult was shouting, young kids and infants crying

The 747 family : 747s, 747-100, 747-100B, 747-200, 747-200SUD (Stretch Upper Deck), 747-300, 747-400, then 747-8 (re-design for cargo use when no order and Airbus compete with A380)...

748 has passenger version which is operated by Lufthansa. May not be popular now but more airlines will start buying them especially when backlog of new plane orders are piling up. Soon its either you wait 5 years for your new plane or consider alternatives. 748 may not be first choice but if thats the only one where you dont have to wait too long to get them, then some orders may be pushed to them

asian airlines are in general pretty good in their service. Am quite surprised that korean air is not listed in the top 10. Have quite a pleasant exp flying with korean air.

 

The worst airlines - in order of ranking -

 

1) American Airlines - 13 hours of pure suffering

2) Delta airlines - sama sama. 13 hours of suffering. though not as bad as AA

3) American airways - seats are probably made of cardboard wrapped with a piece of rug....and that is after 3 hours of delay

4) United

5) Trans airway

I took a couple of times on UA to SFO, HKG and NRT and I got no complaints so far. Maybe I bo chap type. The only complaint is during check-in got "interview" by the SATS/CIAS Aux police why I'm going US. Just throw them any answer they also LL got to let you check-in. Dunno what's the pt of the "interviews".....

Someone i know took UA recently to SFO. He told me then UA plane was so old that they still using those common-shared, mounted movie screen so cannot choose movie U watch what unker sam think u shld watch.
