Hi all bros,

Need some advice on this issue.

Recently my a/c only blows colder when accelerating. For example, it is below average cold when travelling ard 50-60km/h but when travelling in expressway it get alot colder.

Anyone has such experience?

Thanks.

When the a/c starts to blow hot air when it's not supposed to dan you worry. Anything other dan that you just ignore it.

When the ambient temperature aka outside air is cool and your car is on the move it creates moving air to cool the cooling coil more effectively. If let's say you are driving in the wee hours in the morning you will find that happening. That's why in the morning wee hours windows of aircon buses fog up easily. That's nothing weird about it. It's physics.

Thank you KB27 and watwheeles for the kind reply.

Both sound very logical.

Car is coming to 5 yrs old soon.

I just did a major servicing on Sat like change the timing, radiator belt....water pump on sat. And this issue started surfacing.

Maybe will call the workshop and ask them. See what they say.

Hopefully they dont play tai.chi.

Sigh......

Twincharged

Ask the mechanic check the gas level,if not enough, top it up & see,if 1-2 weeks the level drop, means somewhere leaking[usually the coils]...then repair is needed.

Last time I used to have this problem due to low lvls of gas remaining inside the a/c. So you might want to as your workshop to check if gas lvls is low or not?

Supercharged

Have you checked if the aircon directional knob (circulate interior air or in-coming) is working properly? Probably it gets colder when it moving becos it sucks in the air from the front...

check ur a/c fan.

1. open bonnet

2. start engine

3. turn on air con

4. go to engine bay to check if fan is running

could also be in sufficient aircon refrigerant (gas)

Yea.. I concur with kyojin. Since you mentioned your veh is already 5 yrs old and you did not top up gas at all before.

Before going down to workshop, there are 2 things you can do to ascertain aircon's status:

1) check if fan is working- as mentioned by kyojin and others

2) Check refrigerant level- look for a small 10cent size sight glass. Turn on aircon and observe flow of refrigerant. bubbles all the way means low level. Initial bubbling and followed by liquid flow means sufficient refrigerant.

My new pre-owned ride aircon got some weird smell during startup. after 20 sec or so, the smell is gone.

Previous owner did an aircon servicing not long ago.

Wonder if anyone experience this?
