thebutcher 5th Gear March 18, 2018 Share March 18, 2018 Blackvue is not in the IT Show. I just bought my Marbella KR6S, $399 and they upgrade the SD card for me to 64GB FOC and the controller unit can be hidden in 3 place, glove compartments, under the passenger seat and also somewhere near the driver. Have to call the installer tomorrow and ask them more. Yeah i went with the kr6 as the price is reasonable. Gotta wait till stock arrives before i can arrange for installation. Anyway, salesperson told me installation schedule fully booked for this coming week. Not sure if it is true, either way still gotta wait. ↡ Advertisement

Lotr8445r 5th Gear March 20, 2018 Share March 20, 2018 (edited) Can recommend a clear and cheap cam you are using?I got from sim lim tower after i saw a post from a forumer here. See link. Cant remember is $39 or $69 buck as it is few years back. with such price, i can change every year and still cheaper than those branded one. Moreover, i old school, prefer cam with a miniscreen infront for direct viewing. http://sengkangbabies.com/review/recommend-dashcam-car-camera/ Note: i change to this after i found out that the marbella i got from IT show is suck after few days of usage. Maybe not comparable with my car. Cant auto startup or shutdown when go/park Edited March 20, 2018 by Lotr8445r

teomingern Supercharged April 26, 2018 Share April 26, 2018 Does most user carcam manage to last over 5 years? Mine all never last over 3 years. So in my opinion, any cam that cost over $200 is a waste of money regardless how good the video is. A cheap, so call lousy one, at less than $100 can also do the job as long as the video is clear and, i replace it every 2 to 3 years Which brands and models have you used? Do you park under the hot sun? My current Blackvue last over 3 years. My car is under the sun on Wkday. Bro, which model is your Blackvue? My car also always under hot sun every day of the work week, Mon to Fri...

teomingern Supercharged April 26, 2018 Share April 26, 2018 Hello, I'm having some trouble deciding which dash cam to buy... there are a few that I have looked at and while the top end models are all roughly similar, the video feeds on Youtube have been watched... but I still don't know... cost is an issue of course... Some of the contenders are: All 2-channel models Thinkware F800 Thinkware F770 Marbella KR6S iRoad X9 iRoad TX9 Blackvue DR750S Anyone can offer prices for all these models? Much appreciated... Any advise too as to which model to take? I park from Mon - Fri under direct sun for at least 6-8 hours... so ability to survive the heat is important... My car also always under hot sun every day of the work week, Mon to Fri... My previous link has already shown which model i purchased. Yes, park under hot sun during office hr. Many ppls buy cam for decoration (nice looking but expensive). I buy due to necessity. For the price of a thinkware or blackvue, i can change my cam every year for at least 4 years. In another words, if my cheapo cam last for 2 to 3 years each, for the price of those atas one, it can last mine till scrap (10 years) Edited April 26, 2018 by Lotr8445r

What features you want other than normal power on recording? GPS tracking? Live view? Parking mode? 60fps for high speed drive past capture? Vendor support? Night clarity? Large storage capacity? File compression selection? Option to fit CPL lens? Option to fit cam cover to prevent tampering from workshop? Cloud storage capabilities? If all above is what you want, then get DR750s. All features mentioned above are on the DR750s. No other makes comes close.
teomingern Supercharged April 26, 2018 Share April 26, 2018 650GW. Nice! Looks like Blackvue can stand the tropical heat here... My previous link has already shown which model i purchased. Yes, you expressing my sentiments... my concern is whether or not the video feed from the cheap dash cams will be sufficiently clear for use when an accident occurs... I find the latest Thinkware, Blackvue and iRoad models really expensive... if a cheaper model can do the same without all the fancy features, I'll readily take that... I just need it to be able to last a few years under the heat... What features you want other than normal power on recording? GPS tracking? Live view? Basically just clarity to be able to read number plates and only for driving, I don't need parking mode; and wifi capability to view and transfer video files to the phone for convenience.
