best to go both, as co-located within same building, if not nothing much to do.

i think hello kitty is like quite waste time. So probably just go thomas town.

IIRC NTUC card had some discount for Thomasland the last time I was there 2-3 yrs ago...weird but true :D

No harm trying :D

That place almost dead if not for parents making the pilgrimage to the thomasland/kittyland. Plan for half day there at the most. Can have a meal there at one of the restaurants/cafe there.

Thanks for the warning!

anyone been to thomasland before?

I don't want to go to the hello kitty place, so was thinking of just going thomasland alone.

Got any discount for pre-booking? Or else i'll just buy on the day of entry.

I got maybank CC for the legoland tickets, so that one the discount is substantial, so i'll buy beforehand.

Some people say got maybank onsite CC discount. But that was in 2017, not sure if still have promo.

Actually klook prices are pretty decent as well, but to minimise pre-bookings, probably will just buy onsite.

I'm doing 3D2N there. Fri-Sun.

Going with a friend's family as well.

So first day, we'll do thomas town while waiting for check in at the somerset medini at 3pm. The 2 younger ones might be shack out then, so kiv nap time after check in. Then dinner out.

Sat, legoland for what it's worth.

Sun come back.

Sound like a good plan. Safety in numbers.

Dinners can drive up to Bukit Indah for some Zichar at the shophouses or go to then AEON Mall at Bukit Indah if you prefer restaurants.

Both located in the same building, not really big though, took me less than 2 hrs to finish both, but no children with us that time.

Girls may like hello kitty better while boys may prefer Thomas the train more. More of picture taking in hello kitty.

Once outside the building, the whole place is actually very quiet ( was a sat afternoon), with a few restaurants beside the building, I did not try the food there anyway.

Over at legoland, check out the food outside before you enter, you can come out for food and re-enter again later. Or bring your own food and drinks ( need to hide I think, hahaha). The food inside lego land is to fill you up only, and is really not worth the price. I rather bring some bread and go have a good dinner later.  ^_^

Enjoy your trip!!!  [laugh]  [laugh]  [laugh]

That was the same when I went end 2017.  [laugh] It was quite consistent.

Perhaps they were tired of so much complaints/feedback on the breakfast, they put up a sign saying they serve continental breakfast and the meaning of continental breakfast.

:D

Okay, just a forewarning to you, the breakfast at Medini is pretty bad in terms of selection and service. This was sometime early 2017. I hope they made some improvement.

you can park at Medini's CP, underground sheltered for about RMB20 during your stay. Medini is just a road across Legoland. Ask for top floor Legoland view room.

yes i'm staying in medini. going from fri-sunday.

^_^

http://simplyenjoyjb.com/wordpress/how-to-go-to-johor-bahru-from-singapore/#bookmark_car

In the link it says the TnG card can be purchased at the immigration counter(JB side) where they stamp your passport.

Clearing Johor Bahru Checkpoint

The process of clearing Johor Bahru Checkpoint is the same whether you are coming from Woodlands or Tuas Checkpoint. At the immigration counter, hand over your passport for stamping.  While waiting for the stamping, you should pay the Road Charges of RM20, using your Touch n Go card.  You can purchase this card at the counter if you do not have.  You should also pay the toll charge.  The toll payment reader machine is located differently for Woodlands Checkpoint or Tuas Checkpoint, see the details later at below sections.

Collect your passport and check that it is stamped with the correct date.

Should be accurate since the website date is Feb 2018

That time we went in my wife managed to borrow the card from her colleague.

A good reminder is to wind down your car's front and back windows to let the immigration officer(both JB and Sgp) see the faces of you and your passengers.
