I have the original Itronics UPC, bought together with the cam. Brand new, never used but I opened the box to check it out.

I have not installed the cams yet and now decided not to use the Itronics UPC.

Willing to sell at cost, any one interested, please PM me.

my first ITB-100HD that I brought come with the power magic and it seem like it had shorten my car battery life....my brother-in law friend also face the same issue with the power magic ups..

So for those with ITB-100HD and power magic UPC..do take note.. I think somewhere in this thread did discuss about it...

ironic is that my original car battery is only 7 month (maybe one year) old as it a new car...

Now have to replace the UPC and at the mean time..will have to disconnect the the camera once I driving for more than 2 days...

Yes, ct apple is very fast in replying emails. From requesting English manual and firmware, all reply within an hour.

If he did not repky to you, likely you send to the wrong email address.

Another note:

I sent back my camera for warranty claims and it reached him on 18 Jan 2013 (Friday). Replacement was posted out on 21 Jan 2013 (Monday) and is now on the way to me!

Can't get any more prompt than that.

Power Magic supposingly cut off power after X voltage drain on the battery.

But in many case, that voltage is too low for the battery to start the engine.

This is like forgetting to switch off lights.

Car battery is "starting" battery, it does not like deep discharge.

If you keep deep discharging the battery, after a few times, that battery will be permanently damaged.

As I have a car alarm, I do not set my UPS cut-off voltage low. I set it at 12V. After I park my car, the camera will run for around 9 hours and then cut-off (12V reached).

Likely your battery life is ending soon. Mine set at 11.8V, running for about 22 hrs, the cam is still running when I return to my car. By the way, mine set at 24hr.

My battery is about 19 month ~ 20 month old.

I see. I think my problem is not the car battery. It is my car alarm. The battery is still new.

As the battery gets older, it's useful capacity is reduced due to sulphation.

So in effect your battery is getting "smaller" by the day.

Any excessive leakage current due to camera or alarm drain will have a higher chance of a non-starting battery in the morning.
