Greyminswift 1st Gear November 8, 2012 Share November 8, 2012 I have the first gen ipad. Its heavy, so i hardly bring it out anymore and mainly use it to watch american tv shows. When i saw my colleague's nexus 7, i fell for the small form factor and ordered one that very night. Now waiting for DHL to deliver from US to Singapore. I can name a few reasons why i ordered the nexus 7. i) form factor + weight - 7" seems to be a good size for portability. i want something i can play with while i wait for frens while outside. the screen real estate on my HTC phone is puny. 3.7" ii) not a die hard fan of apple ecosystem - my one apple product was the 1st gen ipad. I wanted to get iphone when i made the jump to a smartphone, but android phones were cheaper and i didnt get vouchers from my telco. between apple's and google's ecosystems - i would favour the android system a bit more. My next smartphone would likely be an android anyway. iii) value for money - lots of reviews out there praise the nexus 7 for its value for money specs. If the nexus 7 never existed, i might have given some thought to the ipad mini. since the nexus7 is in the picture however, it does make more sense to get the nexus 7. Will prolly post on my experience after getting my nexus 7 hopefully by this weekend.
Margaux Clutched November 9, 2012 Share November 9, 2012 1 thing to note. If you are those who likes to go around taking photo, you better get the ipad mini instead. Nexus 7 only got front camera, no rear camera.
Joseph22 Turbocharged November 9, 2012 Share November 9, 2012 technological downgrade implies retrogressing to an earlier and inferior state of technology. you still have not state how this is in fact true. handing over control to a third party is a security risk no doubt but this has got nothing to do with technology. Rather, this concerns information security and fidelity of sensitive company processes. okay. this is not a downgrade then.

Windwaver Turbocharged November 21, 2012 Share November 21, 2012 Hi folks, I need some advices on nexus 7. All along I'm using iPad and this is my first time looking into android tablet Wondering anyone has any info or use this tablet before. Is it worth considering or can totally forget it. Will use this pad purely for Internet, video streaming or gaming. Thks for sharing. Cheers 1) N7 has no memory expansion 2) Some batches of Nexus has a screen flicker problem Other than that, the display is pretty high quality plus not to mention the latest version of android (if that matters to you).
