Yep, I paid by cashier order n on d spot, d dealer, make a online transfer. sorry about it but very gan chiong to find a solution to help me settle this problem. As I said if you have proof show it to the police together with @Wfpclare168 since his case is also paid full cash and ownership not transferred. His posting (4 Jan 2015) looks like it happens recently as well (2 months haven't transfer ownership). Go alone why not together since both of you are cheated? Boss @Radx we have a case here, seems like 2 of our fellow MCFs had been cheated by Cars Today... Can help to link them up and lodge a police case together so they can build a case against Cars Today before it becomes another Volk Auto incident? Hi, I got into exactly the same case a few weeks ago but with another used car dealer. Have made exactly the same steps that you have taken. However, the used car dealer has transferred the ownership to me already and I am still waiting LTA to call me to see how they would want to wrap my case up. Did LTA come back to you? They would call the used car dealer and see if they respond by transferring the car to you. If not, LTA would not be able to take any actions and would then refer to you and the police as a CBT (criminal breach of trust) case. Very sad but true. LTA just kept asking me why I choose this used car dealer. LTA kept telling me that it just take $1 to open a company so be careful, but that's not the point isn't it? I told LTA what's the point of them being the custodian of the vehicle transfer and their processes if we, as consumers, can produce concrete evidences that we have indeed bought the car and do all the settlement for the cars we bought and sold. Be ready for a civil suit by engaging your own lawyer if the used car dealer did not transfer still. There is nothing the law can do but to allow us to spend money on legal fees. Do share the details of your case with us. I realize there are a lot of us here who do not know how insufficient the law is, not protecting consumers like us yet. Tons and tons of lessons learnt for me, as I almost lost the car I sold, lost all the payment I made for my "new" used car, and lost my "new" used car! Let's see if he will transfer the car to my name tomorrow or not. I understand from LTA and CASE that our government is looking into this car trade loophole now and trying to enforce law to protect us as consumers. I am also going to bring this up to a Minster and hope that our government will stop all these scams going on to cheat our hard-earn money.
