Subaru Ascent wouldn’t be available anytime this 2-3 years I Guess as it’s produced solely from North America factory.

If it becomes hugely successful and Fuji Heavy Industries decides to produce in Japan’s for japan and china then we would have a good chance of getting it. Think easily 3-5 years later to reach Singapore

Ya if limited to petrol and want a proper 7 seater, think the CX9 is clearly the best choice in this space. Would be interesting if Subaru brings in the Ascent as well.

Frankly, I’m looking at an 7 seater car 3-5 years down the road and looking at at MPV with the practical and Low ground clearance, yet on safety aspects for 3rd row passengers being so close to the rear of the car in the event of accidents, a 7 seater SUV like CX9, Sorento, XC90 and Subaru Ascent will be a safer choice if there are any rear collision with full loads Edited by Chucky2007

I was told that the first batch including the demo cars have been fully sold out.  Next delivery is April....

Look like the response is pretty good. Spacious quality built SUV.....Mazda is catching up fast with the big boys.

First time spotted the CX9 (dark blue) on the local road this morning along Woodlands Ave 12.  From the opposite direction, it still looks big and imposing.

Here is some Mazda cross-over news from the US:

—  Mazda North American Operations in Irvine reported sales rose 15 percent to 24,962 vehicles. The company credited the sales boom to its crossover SUV lineup, which pushed the brand’s U.S. sales to its best January in 24 years. The CX-5 posted a sales gain of 66.9 percent over January 2017. Mazda’s smaller crossover CX-3 saw sales rise 14 percent while the biggest, the CX-9, was up 46.8 percent.

In US, cars are much much cheaper than here. With Mazda quality improved over the years, Sales can expect to rise over there. CX9 is good, when own one if in US.

Test drove this car recently, its very big interior and exterior.  Despite the size and weight, the acceleration felt fast enough.  Overall, I like the drive and the interior felt comfortable.

Minor issues which I thought can be better

  1. No hold function when the car comes to complete stop.
  2. Parking brake is electronic but there is no auto release or engage function
  3. Meter cluster looks dated although the HUD saves the day
  4. Lack of air con in the third row

Price is very close to a PI GLC250...

The 7 seats are good occasionally and so here comes the dilemma....

Ya only problem with this car is the price I feel. Abit too pricey for my liking cos otherwise it has many plus points.

Mazda priced it as their premium car. As such, it will not be cheap.

CX3 and CX5 are lower in their range.
