So likely some from Downtown office will get retrenched too.

"ExxonMobil on Oct 1 announced that it expects to cut its workforce in Singapore by 10 per cent to 15 per cent by the end of 2027 as part of global restructuring efforts, without giving an actual number. It has about 3,500 employees in Singapore, so the impending cuts could affect around 500 workers.

It also said on Oct 1 that it plans to move its Singapore office from downtown to the site of its Jurong plant by the end of 2027."

Esso in Jurong island not affected?

Wait... think I misread the news.

It's only the retail, as in only the petrol marts.

Think the deal doesn't constitute the refining, chemical and lubricant plants of Exxon Mobil in Singapore. So not a total exit.

That meant the 60 stations sold at around SGD 1.3 billion is a better deal.  That like $22m per station.

The high property price also help to ExxonMobil on this deal🤣

Huat Ah.

Anyway, if you happen to pass by north area, Caltex Yishun Woodlands Sembawang does 23% off (can't remember). + Caltex you can minus Fairprice linkpoints. Usually a few trips to NTUC you would accumulate $2 or $3 worth of points.

Altogether, example $70 gross - linkpionts, should get around $50, 51 nett. Almost equivalent of Sinopec 29%, which doesn't happen often.

Plus I personally think Caltex's Techrons are best for engine, i.e. RON98 treatment once in a while.

Used Techron 98 ''Once a While'' is useless, must ''All the While'' then is useful.

I was on Caltex 98 diet for a full year, but then recently changed to 95 - same same la no big difference

Still got AD servicing and oil change credits haven't use finish...the car gets more than enough TLC it needs.

I used to be on caltex98 for my old rx8 many many years ago. Never pumped caltex since especially after their 98 is much more than the others.

For the supposedly better Techrons lor

Anyway, the difference is maybe you get 1 or 2 litre less if paying same amount (e.g. $70 or $100)...which is negligible for me.

If you don't push the engine, no point in pumping RON98.

Just buy Techron Fuel Concentrate and pour it into petrol tank.

Should be 21% off for pumping at Caltex Yishun, Chong Pang, and Sembawang.

To maximise savings, pump $70, $5 off (lots of vouchers at the cashier counter), minus 21%, pay $51.35 and earn LP 46.80 (equivalent to $0.468; 2 LP per litre). That's 27.3% off.

If you are using cards that give you cash rebates or miles, then you would save even more.
