Hi Folks,

Thinking of spending my weekends in a more constructive way. Attending a course/training/skillset upgrade/hobbies come into my mind. It doesn't need to be something expensive, could be a few sessions at the community center too. Still looking for something worthwhile to participate.

Have you attended any courses recently which you find very worthwhile? Care to share?

Please don't tell me to volunteer in RC activities during the weekends.

ITE has some part time courses on electrical wiring, aircon maintenance etc. Go have a look and the cost fees are heavily subsidised for Singaporeans. Learn some useful skills. I did sign up for the electrical wiring one but dropped out halfway due to it being too long - every week for 6 months and pace was very slow. If you are discipline, can consider otherwise go for short courses. Also check out BCA courses, go for those under SDA, more grants.

You can also go register for some free academic online courses, coursera and some others. Google MOOC.

For me, thinking of taking up language course (probably Malay cos useful in our region and when ordering Malay dishes [cool] ) after I pass my Class 2B.

Malay very easy what. Just get Malay friends to teach you lor.

To TS, I suggest learning something that can help you with your work, or at least, something that is a handy skill that in future maybe can earn money one. Like, say, cooking.

Inter - Course?

Thats the one!

And when studying I think a competitive spirit spurs learners to do better.

So I am all for inter-course competition.

Joke aside, maybe try some outdoor sports like golf, hiking, fishing, wall climbing, etc.

If you ain't outdoor person, try to self-learn softwares like photoshop, java script, cooking class, etc.

If you are looking for group activities, i reckon some christian/buddhist groups do have regular outing or some volunteers work.

How about becoming a party animal? hehehe!

perhaps you need to tell us more about yourself like your preference (outdoor/indoor), (individual/group), etc.

by knowing you and your preferred choices, we might be able to narrow down for a right/suitable choice. [:p]

Pretty much an indoor person.

Learning to cook is quite a good idea. Came across some Tze Char courses advertised in CCK CC. Good to learn how to cook restaurant dishes such as Chilli Crab.
