Is that the same as bowel cancer.

Because my friends in the UK over 60 yo have a screening test every 2 years on their free NHS which is a test for bowel cancer.

i m NOT sure, but i think that is relevance to the areas where our stomach, intestines, right up to anus, that could cause cancer.

a month or so it was International Cancer month, or some thing like tat,

surprise Denmark is top of the list [confused]

Doc suggested that 4O & above, jz go for colonoscopy, do it 1ce in 3-5yrs.

tis wud costs abt $2k ++ in pte hospital.

Take care bros here.

Below 65, go see neurologist to diagnose.

Must exclude other organic causes 1st and MRI also can give clues to what type of dementia if there is no underlying organic cause.

Singapore recommendations for non high risk patients screening for colon cancer:

Colonoscopy every 10 yrs

Sigmoidoscopy every 5 yrs

Stool occult blood yearly (but very poor pickup rate)

If you have increased risk, speak to your doctor.

You cannot direct walk in,you need to go Polyclinic first, then they will book an appointment for you...i remember, the 1st thing is CT Scan the Brain...Then if comfirm, will take Medication to control...by the Way,Dementia has no cure.

Do ask the doctor on all side effects of the medication for dementia and inform him/her on what your mother might be taking to avoid "xiang chong".

Some drugs can slow down heart rate...

The degree of dementia usually is tested through a series of oral/visual tests...unless suspect of brain issue would the doctor order CT, MRI, Pet.

Doctor would then rate the result and make recommendations...yes, no cure but to slow down the deterioration as much as possible.

Best of luck bro.

Any Geriatrician to recommend for dementia?

Most of the re-structured hospitals have "general"  geriatric clinics nowadays and even wards too for the very elderly ; My mom is followed up at CGH, but the geriatrics doc cant do much but to arrow the patients to different specialists in the field and he see's overall everything to balance and make life better; 'cos nowadays you ask any specialists about some issue .... they like damn blurr and  say I cant comment and I will refer you to another specialists ...... nowadays got so many  "types" of specialists until blurr also ; so like she got more than 10 specialists until i blurr again and keeping up with the appts.
