With this kinda salary, sorry, a good job is not good enough. He must do a great job.

 

anyway, as stated, US president pay decided by law, with multiple political parties in the picture. If you run the whole show, of course, you pay yourself top dollar.

it's not just abt population.

$500K is more than enough to live a very comfortable life in SG (haven't even count spouse's income, if any).

 

So cabinet ministers and president shld be paid within the range of $240k to $500k (inclusive bonus etc)

I think it is not a matter of money in our context.

 

The leaders can pay themselves as much as they want, as long as they demonstrate that they are truly committed to the betterment of the country and its OWN people.

 

What the general consensus is at present is that our leaders are paying themselves obscene amounts of money that further distances them from the regular peasant like most of us here, and trying to smokescreen us every time problems due to their incompetence surface.

Donated 3.1m - 2.5m = 600k * 5yrs = 3m from 2007-2012 + 350k in 2012 = S$3.35m = US$2.7m

 

Obama need to donate 6.75 year of his full salary to match. He is only donating 5% so he needs to donate for 135 years.

 

LHL only used a little over 5 years for what Obama needed 135yrs to do. His productivity is therefore over 2500% that of Obama.

 

His salary is only 6.4x more than Obama but is 25x more productive. So we got a good bargain.
