Wonder why taxi driver dont like passengers to slam the door of the taxi? The taxi dont belong to them? [rolleyes]

There is a huge difference between slamming the door unintentionally vs slamming it deliberately. I'm sure the taxi driver is able to differentiate between the 2.

One more thing, taxi drivers dont like customers to put bulky, boxy, sharp items in the car (other than the boot) is because those items may dirty, poke and damage the interior of the car (i.e. seats, side cushions etc.) To those people who say the taxi is not the driver's own car, it is worse than that. Because if there is any damages anywhere (be it outside or inside) of the taxi, it is the taxi driver who will have to pay for the repairs when he returns the taxi to the company.

To those passenger carrying seafood, durian and stuff like that, please be considerate and volunteer to put them in the boot. This is to minimise the smell lingering in the cabin of the taxi and reduce the discomfort level for the next passenger. People should not expect the driver to clean up their "mess". People will be s--t to think that it is the respnsibility of the driver and thus heck about the cleanliness in the taxi, but they will complain when they encounter the situation (that is left behind by the preceding passenger) themselves. Remember, usually it is the previous passenger that causes inconvenience and discomfort to the next passenger. Please dont expect the driver to clean the mess IMMEDIATELY after every passenger alighted. How do you expect the driver to earn money when he does so?

Live and let live. Be considerate to others first.

PS: anyway the earth is dying....

So if you drove a friend's car or a car belonging to a member of your family,

you don't mind people slaming the car door as it doesn't belong to you?

Cabby dumps paintings worth $6,200 on ground after passenger slams taxi door

AsiaOne | Monday, Apr 08, 2013

SINGAPORE - A Stomp contributor said this cabby dumped his luggage and two expensive paintings he had brought from Myanmar worth some $6,200 onto the ground at Changi Airport's Terminal 2.

The incident had occurred after he and the cabby had a disagreement about whether his two paintings would fit into the taxi.

Here is an eye-witness' account by the Stomp contributor:

"On the morning of Apr 6, at about 4.30am, I landed on a flight from Myanmar.

And once again regarding the standard of news reporting, it is not an eye-witness account. It is the story by one side of the party involved. The reporter, be it intentionally or otherwise, has mis-reported and deceived readers into thinking that the incident was really as what had happened. The above account is NOT IMPARTIAL.

:D

I dont slam others people car whether or not it's belong to me, cause i know this is not right. But i think many people mentality is since the taxi is consider a public vehicle and dont belong to them, they would not treat it nicely. So the driver really cannot stop or prevent people from slaming the door. Even your own car, i believe you should have friends/colleague who close the door very hard. -_-

Thats true. Many men don't even treat their own wife nicely.

And their wife belongs to them let alone things that don't belong to them.

To be fair and not to be a sexist, many wife don't treat their husbands nicely,

parents kids, kids parents and husband / wife / kids their maids nicely. And bosses

their employees nicely.

If people close my door very hard, I will jump out of my car and help them close the

door myself the next time they come in or out, they think I am very gentlemanly.

:D

well, probably the first half was gotten from the passenger, but the reporter did not bother to find out from the taxi driver for the second half of the story... hehe..

Not the first time la, i noticed most taxi driver dont help in loading your luggage at the airport. Many times they just stand there and stare. Everytime when i took taxi from the airport when i came back from overseas, 3 out of 5 drivers dont help.

taxi service is to bring u from point a to point b only.

helping u with ur luggage is not a must.

the fare does not include carrying ur luggage....

yep, the taxi driver is obliged but NOT a must to help carry luggage into the boot. More so especially for those drivers with back problems. Communication is important.
