If I have to pay 1.5m for my mass-market condo, would I not want to earn more from my business and pass down the cost to consumers? No coincidence why we've been voted again and again as one of the most expensive cities for expats. Edited December 5, 2014 by Pmet

U already say u changed on Tuesday and Thursday, while I said I changed mine on Friday.. Different day different rate.. Some ore u say u changed in woodlands, then the lower rate u mentioned in jB is the sign they put up?or did u physically changed the money also? Meaning u changed 1x in woodlands and 1 x in JB same day? Do u know in JB, the money changer put 255, but usually they change higher at 258-260 automatically... Except those in the malls..? Where u change in JB? And each time u change minimum S$100 or sometimes $50? I changed at the one after turning right after the shell station after jB custom. It's before the BHP station at Citibank building. I changed SGD100 and got RM260.40 back... If u had changed at those money changer in shopping malls like Tebrau or jusco.. Of course bad rates... Very very bad rate in Jusco and bloody rude woman, who also give terrible rates if just change s$50 or u use 10 pieces of $10 to change. Kangadrool Supersonic December 6, 2014 Share December 6, 2014 Last Wednesday, the rate was already 2.56 although most shops have hardcopy sign 2.51 If you hand $100 or $200, you will get 2.56 rate, and that's on 26/11/2014. baby_yanz 1st Gear December 7, 2014 Share December 7, 2014 Best way to transfer if you do not want to go down to Johor is via the CIMB Singapore Online Funds Transfer Service which allows you to transfer funds immediately to you cimb msia account free of charge. Rates (2.6033) are pretty good compared to other banks and money changer. They even have a cashback promo of S$15 dollars now....If you do not have a cimb msia acc, can try calling the cimb singapore call centre and check whether you can submit your application through cimb sg branch just like what HSBC and Citibank has.

Spring Moderator December 7, 2014 Share December 7, 2014 (edited) Heard local money changers offer better rates due to better turnover, than JB.In general and normal times yes but with the recent drop in M$, Malaysian MC giving better for now.Actually I won't say the Malaysian side give better but rather the Singapore MC giving lower rates for now maybe due to old stock but that anomaly should change soon.
