103k is classic or elegance... What color you choose.

Have your SE told you to make the final payment....

BM quoted $1600 for solar film and leather seat.

And why you choose to do the leather seat outside....

Hypersonic

You do not have to do your leather seats at Borneo. I am sure they also outsourced to shops outside.

Just go outside and do. Should be cheaper and you can choose different combination, thread colour, etc.

Wow, total basic cost for the 1.6 classic is $103,930 with Coe at $68,589.

Have not even factored in SE commission. You actually bought at $103,000! Hahaha

Truly Borneo Motor scored an own goal. Someone made the decision to hold back bidding until the 6th bid ................

Wonder how many such cases they have.

Wonder how many got their deposit back, how many got their coe and car and how many backlog they have for those who bought during the CNY period.

1) Altis 2) Mazda3 3) Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Corolla Altis is No 1 model in sales and popularity but Mazda3 is surprise runner-up
[email protected]
Singapore
TOYOTA returned to rule the roost in March, with its popular Corolla Altis accelerating to the top of the sales charts as Singapore’s favourite model, followed by an unexpected runner-up – the Mazda3.
Toyota’s big push in March allowed it to overtake Mercedes-Benz, which had dominated in January and February.
A strong spurt of 968 cars registered in March alone pushed the Japanese juggernaut into first place with a total of 2,090 units put on the road in the first three months of the year, according to the Land Transport Authority (see table).
This number includes both authorised and parallel imports.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz has slipped to runner-up position, with year-to-date registrations of 1,427 units, which means both Toyota and Mercedes-Benz are in the same positions as at end-2014.
But last year’s No 3 brand, BMW, is currently trailing in seventh position with just 575 units. The current No 3 is Honda with 926 units, followed by Mazda (886) and Nissan (799).
Volkswagen, last year’s fourth most popular brand, is currently in sixth place with 724 units.
As for the most popular model in the first quarter, the Toyota Corolla Altis managed to extend its winning streak into 2015 after ending 2014 as Singapore’s best-selling car.
Authorised distributor Borneo Motors Singapore sold 737 units of this popular Thai-made compact sedan in Q1 2015, with more than half of that number registered in March alone.
The boost was possible because of the introduction of an entry-level variant in late February at a very attractive price.
The second most popular model among authorised distributors was a surprise, however – the Mazda3.
With 453 units registered, or slightly more than one of every two Mazda cars sold in the first quarter, this model performed strongly on account of it being well-priced with a good number of innovative and factory-fitted features. Another plus point among buyers in this class is that the Mazda models here are made in Japan.
Rounding up the top 3 models was something at the opposite end of the price scale – the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The E-Class was the most popular model in 2013 and 2010, and the runner-up in 2014. Although there are no official numbers, about 400 units were understood to have been registered by authorised distributor Cycle & Carriage in Q1 this year.
The LTA figures are comprehensive because they cover all makes sold here, although they include parallel imports, which can make up anywhere from 5 to 25 per cent of total registrations for the more popular brands.
On the other hand, the model breakdown data for each brand is not freely available because the LTA has withheld its release due to the German manufacturers’ adherence to regulations governing internal compliance and anti-trust issues.
Thanks to the increasing supply of certificates of entitlement, a total of 10,364 new cars were registered in the first three months of the year, or a massive 73.8 per cent increase from the 5,962 units in the same period a year ago.
A strong spurt of 968 cars registered in March alone pushed the Japanese juggernaut into first place with 2,090 units put on the road in the first three months of the year, according to the LTA

Cos this time round they need to help more people to 'secure' and to appease those non-guranteed COE who book at the lowest timing also...

Relax bro...

1) Like I mention before, Cat A prices now is unsustainable. The reason it ended higher is because dealer want to beat the CEVS changes, 1 July. That's is why u have 2,891 bid this time around. Even Borneo Motor also bid for those who book after CNY although they know they will be outbid.

2) The frenzy bidding now is similar prior to CNY bidding. IE, AD and PI will try to secure all the booking before CNY because customers wanted new cars for the CNY. See what happen after that. Demand dried up and COE fall.

3) My guess is that after the Jun 2nd bidding, COE prices will have huge correction. It might come earlier. COE for Cat A should come down to around 60-65k by then.

4) Psychologically, customers won't be aggressive in getting new car in July because of the "perceive" higher car prices because of the CEVS changes and the higher COE prices. So there will be less booking compared to now.

5) Increase supply have already fulfill majority of the demand from other Category. So the correction will continue. You will see bigger correction until then.

6) So if you intend to rebook the car. U have to make the decision whether to get Guaranteed or non Guaranteed. Later cannot tahan book the car before CNY and see the price correct by 4-5k... Heart also pain.

Report by ST below

CERTIFICATE of entitlement (COE) premiums ended mostly lower in yesterday’s tender, on the back of an increased supply.

The COE premium for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp posted the only increase by ending at $68,589 – up 1.5 per cent from two weeks ago.

The COE premium for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp dipped by 0.5 per cent to close at $77,600. The premium for Open COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mostly for bigger cars, slipped 1.9 per cent to $78,004.

Commercial vehicle premiums registered the biggest fall of 5.5 per cent to hit an eight-month low of $50,098. Motorcycle premiums had their first respite from record-breaking increases. They dropped 4.2 per cent to finish at $6,512.

Motor dealers said premiums would have fallen more sharply if not for a rush to beat a more stringent carbon taxation scheme that kicks in on July 1. Buyers have been trying to beat that implementation date, which they fear would be followed by price increases.

“There’s some panic buying,” said Mr Nicholas Wong, general manager of Honda agent Kah Motor, who believes that premiums will come down after July 1.

Mr Ron Lim, general manager of Nissan agent Tan Chong Motor, said companies which have been holding back bids in the past two months “pumped all in” yesterday.

The Land Transport Authority received 4,967 bids for car COEs (including Open) – 27 per cent more than the previous tender.

The Straits Times understands some dealerships had promised customers they would register their cars by June 30, so as to beat the tax change the next day. This fuelled competition for COEs.

There are 6,637 COEs up for grabs per month in the May-to- July quota – 41 per cent more than the previous quota period.

Although coe quota increases, it means more deregistrations too. How many of this group go on to replace their cars.

For those who will be collecting their car after Jul 1, there is really no incentive to book now, as in any cases still have to pay for CEVS. They might as well wait out to see coe performance given the incoming increase in coe quotas.

You not going to install solar film as well....

Mine default is with leather seat and solar film.

IIRC, the leather seat for my model is done locally.

The elegance model is done in factory.

I feel that mine was quite nicely done although when I collected, I missed a tiny imperfection.

If you are doing outside, you want to see the "quality" of what BM offers.

e.g. Mine have some skirting at the base of the seat for maybe dust protection.

Solar film is a must as I park outdoors.

An insect was trapped in one of the windows.

During normal servicing, the manage to get vendor in to replace it. Save me the trouble.
