during the last weekend, I did bring my parents & my sister to go leng kee to try out both of this car. My family do like Sylphy interior as it had more legroom, shoulder room & also rear aircon.

though till now I still comparing when the salesperson in TC say he can throw in LED DRL & also give me the maintenance package from 20-60k(which actually had to pay) other than the 1st 3 free servicing.

Kia K3 ($119,999)

- OMV $18,013

- CEVS rebate $5k

Toyota Altis ($128,988 after $4k discount)

- OMV $18,777

- CEVS rebate $5k

Looking at the OMV, both are almost the same.

So, how does Kor do it? Give so much more features at same cost of Toyota.

Guaranteed or non-guaranteed COE package?

When I test drove the Sylphy, it was after a shower & the road still wet - i told sales guy the noise inside cabin was abit high - he said it was due to wet road.

Yes, TC salesman eager to get sale & will offer some sweeteners - but not BM. Their sales ppl won't give anything extra.

Tested Slyphy, K3 and Altis.

Slyphy has a very clean dashboard. But handling wise I find the steering too light to provide any feedback from the road. Roof and rear space is good.

Altis has better steering feedback, tho the dashboard design looks a little *ahem*. Pickup is adequate. It has a lot of space at the rear.

K3 wise I like the cockpit and features that it provide. Tho the roof is abit low that I had to bend quite a bit to get in from the rear. Rear spacing is ok.

Bm being Bm, won't change one... I went there few mths back, before the actual car arrive, one se show me some pictures, and asking me to book,..when I said I prefer to see the actual car and test drive first, he show me the yaya face, follow by comments like, "well, this is Toyota, no need to test drive also should know it's good'.....

Of these 3, in fact my heart is with sylphy, I like the design, suite my current status, as family man who needs plenty of rear leh room for my kids, wife... Just like my current Latio which has serve me very well..Nissan is build for comfy which is what I like... . The only down side is I don't like cvt...Don't trust it can last 10yrs...

Next would be k3, which is the model my head tells me to go for... I like the exterior design as well as interior and it comes with 6at... Only concern is can it last 10yrs?.. Better than cvt?.. I have the perception that 6at should be lesser problem than cvt... Wrong?..

Last on my list would be Toyota altis, don't know why, I have confident with their engine but when I know it comes with cvt, I'm skeptical... My confident lvl drops... And it's not as comfy as sylphy I believe although I've yet to test drive... I could be wrong... My anyway, I'm not changing car for another 2-3yrs, good to wait and see how these car perform in real world... Maybe by that time, new mazda3, elantra or even lancer could come into picture...Hehehe...

a) My family had the same exact exp when we viewed & bought the Gen 1 Altis. Purely based on brochure...

b) My mech told me cvt compared to AT is like how AT is compared to MT, where hardiness is concerned.

c) I most likely will be renewing coe unless have freak coe incident again. Yea more rear leg room would be helpful in my case too..

From donkey years ago, BM already very stuck up. You go to them and they would not come to you. I guess even during the current super high coe period, their sale attitude still no change.
