So today is the last chance to secure CAT A COE for >130 bhp cars. I wonder if they can collect their new car in time for CNY. The AD will be busy this weekend to clear the stock for them.

vw announced new lineup where all their 1.4L n even jetta sports is using turbo charged engine instead of twin charged... 122bhp can go back cat A riao lol

Volkswagen Group Singapore announced that its new Category A model line-up will consist of 13 different models. The Volkswagen line-up has been revised to offer customers an attractive range of models to choose from.

The new Category A Cars are:

  1. Polo 1.2 TSI (90 bhp)
  2. Polo Sport 1.2 TSI (105 bhp)
  3. CrossPolo 1.2 TSI (105 bhp)
  4. Beetle 1.2 TSI (105 bhp)
  5. Golf 1.2 TSI (105 bhp)
  6. Golf 1.4 TSI (122 bhp)
  7. Golf 1.4 TSI With Equipment Package (122 bhp)
  8. Golf Cabriolet 1.4 TSI (122 bhp)
  9. Jetta 1.4 TSI (122 bhp)
  10. Jetta 1.4 TSI Comfort (122 bhp)
  11. Jetta 1.4 TSI Sport (122 bhp)
  12. Touran 1.6 TDI (105 bhp)
  13. Passat 1.4 TSI (122 bhp)

While most of the new models are already available for sale, the rest, including the Golf Cabriolet 1.4 TSI and Touran 1.6 TDI, will be progressively introduced over the next few months. All 13 models feature turbo-charged direct injection engines (TSI/TDI) and Volkswagen's highly-acclaimed DSG dual clutch transmission. This combination not only delivers excellent refinement and ultra-low fuel consumption, but also contributes to a level of driving enjoyment completely unexpected in a Category A car.

Unexpected for the Sports to be brought down to 122bhp! Whats the point of buying a sports if its the same performance as the TSI?

So people buy sports can go tune above 130bhp. new policy failed.

soon you see they will say it is illegal to do changes to ECU and use piggy back..

precisely. that time when quizzed, lta defiantly say they would not allow dealers to bring in lower bhp variants of the same model.

the problem is some badge like vw, got so many models that are not yet introduced in Singapore. how do they stop the rot?

again LTA scholars are always warriors in theory, but beaten at the practical level.
