I think constructor champ will be decided long before the S'pore race that's for sure! Anyway no one really bothers about the constructor championship other than the car manufacturers themselves cos obviously it's a big bragging right, marketing boost etc.

I'm rubbing my hands in glee over the 2 horse fight cos I miss the days of

Prost v Senna and those other rivalries which made F1 such a joy to watch.

Tired of the Vettel from starting lights to chequered flag lead all the way show. Utterly boring!!!!

That's ironic considering that its pretty obvious that F1 is more "car" than "man" that determines the winner.

You are partly right on that but in my books, I like to see 2 guys with the same equipment slugging it out cos this way we'll know who's the better driver all things being equal.

With all due respect to Vettel, I don't really know if the wins of last few years was because he was a really good driver or cos he got a better car.

Webber couldn't really challenge him partly cos of team orders whereas Merc seems to have "let the best man win" attitude.

Last time, I used to follow the cars in F1 cos there were a few manufactures of the same standard so it was game on but last few years, it's always been 1 manufacturer being head and shoulders above the rest and coupled with team orders meant it was more of a procession. I hope Merc continues what they have been doing so we can at least see a proper race!!

Yes exactly. So my point was that whilst the real competition actually happens at the "car" level, most ppl are interested in the "man" level.

the only solution is standardize engine ... then every team got equal chance to go up podium

Yes agree with you. And I have no qualms to say it was obviously the car that got Vettel those championships. Just like the year that Button won with Brawn GP. They pulverised the competition out of nowhere cos they had some design advantage. And he is nowhere now.

A1 GP tried that but failed.

In F1, many times are right place at the right time in order to win the championship.

Yeah man, you never know....as it is the argument of who is the GOAT (greatest of all time) for tennis is hard to argue (most would say Federer, some Nadal and a few maybe rod laver), for Formula 1 it would be impossible due to the car and ever changing technology and rules playing such a huge role. Driver is almost just a passenger. There was an article I saw yesterday that was saying drivers today rely so much on the information given by the pit you wonder who is really doing the racing.

by the way, in the old days the launch was control by the driver ... skill counts

now launch is control by computer at the pitlane by the engineer ...

Why not make it compulsory to turn off all driver-aids in the second half of each race to separate the boys from the men!???

Should see Hamilton race like mad in the next few races like when he had a 25 points deficit from Australian GP in order to match up to Rosberg's championship points. Merc has a MGU-K failure which mean they are 160HP down but to be able to come home second is just extraordinary.

It could have been a much better result for RBR if they were able to overtake Perez much earlier in the race. Surely, it would have been a 1-2 for RBR.

I was very surprised how Rosberg was able to stay in the lead for so long despite much reduction in straight line top speed. If Perez's DRS was working, all the cars behind him would have passed Rosberg. However I must admit, Rosberg drove brilliantly, nursing his way through.

The move by Massa on Perez could have been judged with better precision, the two impacts were extremely heavy. I was so relieved that neither Perez nor Massa was seriously injured.

The rivalry between Rosberg and Hamilton will continue to grow. Hamilton stayed cool for the race, but his car setup and his driving style brought him to retirement. Why did the FIA have to make the brakes less effective by reducing the no. of pistons in the calipers and thinner brake disc? The output of the engine is essentially similar to previous year, yet rear brake effectiveness is reduced.

Scuderia Ferrari really came into this season unprepared. No significant improvements at all with 1/3 of the season gone. Aero not the best, engine not the best, even with Alonso, he can't do much. Buck up or be sitting ducks (against mainly the two top teams and some strong contenders) for the rest of the season.
