Aizen Neutral Newbie April 11, 2014 Share April 11, 2014 Hi guys, my car's stock tyre size is 215/65/R16 but my family member changed it to 215/60/R16 a few years back. Based on Miata.net's car tyre calculator, there is a -3.21% difference in diameter, way above the recommended +/-2.5%. Apart from an inaccurate speedometer and mileage, what other parts could have been affected due to this tyre size difference? Also, I saw from the sidewall that the tyre was manufactured in the 40th week of 2010. Is it about time to change the tyres, although the car hasn't been driven much? I kinda want to go back to the stock sizing and was wondering if anyone has recommendations. Thanks all! ↡ Advertisement

Thanks all! almost 4 years, it's time for change tyres, based on your tyre profile, guess your car is MPV? so confort is a consideration, recommend to go back the stock size, and no headache for +/- speedo and mileage, can try CSC3, GY F1A2

Aizen Neutral Newbie April 11, 2014 Author Share April 11, 2014 I'm driving a Honda CR-V, but I don't go off-road so comfort tyres would be great. Just to double check, the four digits I see on the tyres are "4010" so it tallies with my first post that it was made in the 40th week of 2010 right? ( orginal equiment for toyota rush? i believe) many other brand like bridgestone and yokohama make this size, but for off road use, like dueler and geolandar. which generate alot of noise. if i am not wrong nexen also have a n-blue model for this size, also a comfort street tyres, price much lower.

Oh yes, AL Tyre recommended the Toyo J48A. Does Original Equipment mean the tyres they sell come from Rush owners who sold it off? Just curious. Meanmachine Supercharged April 11, 2014 Share April 11, 2014 Oh yes, AL Tyre recommended the Toyo J48A. Does Original Equipment mean the tyres they sell come from Rush owners who sold it off? Just curious. From my understanding, - Original Equipment Manufactured ( OEM ) basically means it was manufactured from countries to countries of exclusivity. Eg: Michelin Tyre can be manufacture in European nation and Malaysia too ( T&C apply )
Aizen Neutral Newbie April 11, 2014 Author Share April 11, 2014 (edited) Seems like the Toyo J48A has a rating of 98S, while my car recommends 98T. Not an ideal choice I guess. Edited April 11, 2014 by Aizen

Just curious. no la take off tyres means the rush owner buy new car, straight away drive to work shop and change new 1, and his tyres only drive maybe 50 km? then consider not new but just take off from new car orginal equipment mean the equipment that come with the car when its produce from factory. which i believe in this case, toyota rush car come from japan is fited with j48 tyres. ( i think so ) anw, there is a huge different in price for take off tyres, and news tyres, and dun be surprise, alot of shop out there is selling take off tyres for almost the same price of a new tyres. .
