indulge 3rd Gear January 27, 2015 Share January 27, 2015 another punggol resident here! maybe i came from driving a Rush, which is very bumpy, but even at 250 i think it's a very smooth ride.. thinking of going up to 260 next.. my fuel consumption is quite consistent at 15km/l, 50/50 city and expressway, on eco mode.. i just tested the modes and realised that on pickup, and on eco mode, it hardly moves higher than 2k/rpm.. without the eco mode, it roars like a beauty, reaching 100km/h really fast! i dun enjoy my ride on eco mode :) ↡ Advertisement
Vantivetech 2nd Gear January 27, 2015 Share January 27, 2015 Bro, i finished my second tank today. Based on meter, first tank average at 14.7km/l, 2nd tank at 15.4km/l. Based on my own calculation, first tank at 12km/l, 2nd tank 14.3km/l. I drive 546km for second tank, with one bar left and petrol light alerted. Mechanic advised me to pump shell 98 instead of 95 for my new engine. I tried and hope will hv better fc and drive with it😊 My drive still 50%highway 50% city. Average 90km to 100km drive per day😐 Btwn, i yet try the Eco mode.. totally support the advice, nevermind Shell or Esso or Caltex but RON98 gives you a significantly better experience driving though it is priced a little bit more. Worth the difference IMO

IMHO, it will be advisable to follow the recommended tyre pressure stated on the car manual. Increasing tyre pressure may cause more wear on your tyres, also not advisable for long drives since tyres will heat up more.

You can consider lowering your tyre pressure bah. 250 is too bumpy and damaging imho. Lol. 235 is good enough. You may not see much diff compared to 250 as long as you check your tyre pressure once a week and maintain at 235.

Snoopy7885 Clutched January 27, 2015 Share January 27, 2015 Is it a need to service the first 1000km? My SE told me that now a days the new car does not really need the 1000km service. Ask me to skip the 1000km and go for the 5000km service.

pokadot 2nd Gear January 27, 2015 Share January 27, 2015 Done my 1st 1k servicing at Upper Thomson Optima Car. They poured Shell Ultra Helix 5W40, change oil filter, checked battery, pumped air tyre to 250(suggested by the boss), clean air con filter, lastly car wash.Total damage is $138 before gst. wow...that is a lot of things done for $138. Must complain to my workshop, which only change oil and the filter only. I think abt 3.8L. The mechanic said engine oil can not overpoured, will hv problem to start the car.now a day everything oso exp especially own a car and to maintain it😥 My workshop told me that it uses 4.5L. So who is correct?

I am not sure exact litre poured it. But, when i looked at and shaked the balance 4L Shell Helix bottle on the floor, still hv some left. Was told can not over pour coz the engine might hv difficulities to start.

This is from Vezel manual 3.1l or 3.3l with oil filter. this is English version Bro, thanks for sharing. I have to bring this up to my workshop because I am charged by the amount of engine oil used. I hoped they do something to rectify this before I complain all the way to the boss. Possible to PM me the source of this documentation. I would like to print the relevant pages and bring it to the workshop. Edited January 27, 2015 by pokadot
Xiaojav 1st Gear January 27, 2015 Share January 27, 2015 Bro there is no need to insist on Honda brand syn oil. Honda OEM the oil from major Japs oil manufacturers anyway. They don't manufacture any engine oil I am a FD1 owner and yes our Honda engines needs and should use 20wt engine oil whenever possible for max efficiency and fuel economy. I get my oil from http://mxtradings.com/ They sell only top quality syn oil from USA and the prices are really affordable. I am using Pennzoil Ultra 5W-20 fully syn for many years already. Shell Helix Ultra simple CMI when compared to these top quality oils Errr. Why is everyone bringing their own oil? Thought service center will provide when the servicing is included? 1k servicing coming up. If there is an advantage, what is the recommendation? ↡ Advertisement
