Did a count from this list. Seems like Hup Long / Autolink / Leco Prestige / Cartimes has the highest delivery numbers (in order from high to low) till date. But there are some booked entries without any info on who the PI is.

Any comments about Jackcars or Vincars? These guys are fairly reputable as well correct since i do see some of their cars on the road...

yupz, that's why i thot too. Again, to be safe, i based on those who have collected and not those who have booked.

based on data, have shortlisted to hup long, autuolink, leco prestige, cartimes and vincars

the rear windows are L2 or L3 (cannot remember) on the current X model now. perhaps some bros/sis can check out the markings on their baby and let us know. it is printed at the lower corner of the window.

The new improved version will have a darker rear passenger and "boot" window. So what a PI told me "honestly" is that they will replace with cina "clear" windows and the most they can do is to put up solar flims there. Some PI which offers a lower price for the new improved version will exclude this solar film. But i think the real problem is that the cina windows tend to be "wavy" if viewed from an angle against the florecent lights in the showroom and also solar flims no matter which atas brand (3M,VKool etc) cannot be compared to a tinted window as it degardes overtime.

So if i want to avoid the above, there seems to be 2 solutions. Short term is to ask PI to put back the original "failed" windows and change them out during the 3rd year inspection and subsequently change again every 2 years for the inspection. Troublesome and probably costly as well. Long term solution is to buy the current X model window and retrofit those back into the new improved X version. Anyone knows if the current X window can be purchased as spares?

I walked around my car and unable to see any marking stating L2 or L3. How do we even know if the current X model window can even pass LTA?

Any idea?

I only know that my windscreen and front seats' windows film are customized by my PI.

Neutral Newbie

Hi, just like to check the following regarding the Vezel:

1. Hydraulic or Electric power steering?
2. Aircon air filter supplied originally?
3. L15B engine uses 4 or 8 spark plugs?

4. is the accelerator DBW or the conventional cable pull system?

I really feel that the new facelift has minimal differences. So just buy the current X model...

I expect both of these is electric... but probably someone can confirm.

I don't mind the current X, just that my ride expires next Feb so I thought I'll hang on for a while to see if prices go south. Anyway, no one seems to have stock of current X anymore for delivery b4Jul. Any new stock the PI orders now would be the improved version.

Bro, u driving the vezel already? There should be some markings done by Honda at the bottom closer to the rear. Markings are black so might not be visible easily on the already dark tinted windows. The spec is indicated on the 2nd row if I remember right. But it's not a standalone "L2" or "2L" etc. there are some more characters prior to this code.

Then again, I might just sneak over to my neighboring carpark later this evening to spy on the white vezel there. Just hope the owner won't call the police on me if he/she sees me looking closely into the window. =)

I got mine from vincars at $112.9k in April - straightforward SE and no mambo jumbo. Got my COE on the first bid. Peace of mind from a reputable PI and I think the price is fair.

Not an expert in this, but wouldn't LTA be checking the car also during the inspection for carbon emission etc?

Congrats bro! Good stuff. I think you got a very good price.

One of the reasons why i shortlisted Vincar is the sales is not pushy and sincere, before today's COE, the price was 113++ for delivery after Jul with limited accessories and the car will be delivered as is. i.e. no fancy solar films

I saw some markings, I believe this is not the marking for the solar film but for the glass and cannot find any other marking on the film.

Report in BT today

A small, cool SUV from Honda has powered past the traditional Toyota model to claim the mantle as Singapore's most popular parallel import (PI) model as the total PI market boomed on an expanding COE quota.
In the first three months of 2015, 380 units of the Honda Vezel were registered collectively by parallel importers across Singapore (see table). The Vezel is a Japanese domestic model, the first of which was registered here last June.
On the other hand, the car sold by authorised Honda importer Kah Motor is the HR-V, of which none was registered in the first quarter of 2015 as it was launched here only in mid-April.
In recent years, Toyota models have occupied the top three spots, usually with the Estima, Alphard or Vellfire, and Harrier in that order.
But the attractive styling and price of the cheaper Vezel has been popular with replacement buyers returning to the market over the last half year.
The Toyota Harrier is now the runner-up with 338 units registered, after having ended 2014 in third place. The Vellfire is third among the Toyota models with 48 units, while none of its mechanically identical twin, the plain-looking Alphard, were registered by parallel importers in the first quarter. This is because the new-generation Alphard and Vellfire are already here and undergoing homologation. The first units are expected to be registered only later this month.
Overall though, the Toyota brand is still the top PI brand, with 580 cars registered (see table).
Honda is the second most popular brand with 432 units. Last year’s No 3 has swopped places with Mercedes-Benz, which has garnered 103 grey imports.
A total of 1,169 PI cars were registered from January to March 2015, or an eye-popping 189 per cent increase from the same period a year ago.
Only 404 parallel imported cars were registered in the first three months of 2014, in a reflection of the tighter COE supply this time last year.
The increasing number of COEs being released resulted in a total of 10,364 new cars registered across the industry in the first three months of the year, or up 73.8 per cent increase from the corresponding period a year ago.
This means that the year-to-date share of the PI market is 11.3 per cent, or a big jump from the 6.7 per cent in the whole of 2014.
Toyota is still the top PI brand, with 580 cars registered

Hi there

I am Francis Goh.

I bought my Maroon X model on 23/03/2015 from Swee Seng Motors.
I just went for 1000K servicing.

The workshop recommended use of RON 98 petrol in stead of RON 95.
THey said can improve mileage by about 60KM, and calculated to be about the same costs,
& saves some of the engine parts from damages.

Any advice?

My personal choice is also to use ron98 not so much for improved mileage but for the drivability.

Maybe I am also more sensitive, but with ron95, with load (upslope or etc) at light throttle, I can pick up some pinging.

Cars are supposed to enhance lifestyle so use the fuel grade that allows you to further appreciate this cash sucking machine :)

Actually its not the Ron but mon. Go according to manufacture guide is still 95ron gasoline.. Other specs impact on rhe milage like density etc.. In general, 98 ron is indeed denser thus high milage.. ;-)
