yes the photo were taken from the undercarriage of my X-trail (taken a few days ago at the workshop). I seen the video from the link, even when you got the trailer hitch from Etrailer, modification is still require to the body-frame as no build-in nuts (on the left side) is there for securing the hitch trailer(as can seen from the photo i sent earlier). so the problem is to have nuts to secure the hitch trailer.

 

can check whether you place order through Etrailer already? am keen to get also if price is reasonable. the DIY one that the workshop quote for be is about 180 to 220 sing$. (not powder coated like the one from Etrailer).

 

So the LS quotation including the bicycle racks (am looking at Yakima brand) or just the hitch? maybe you can PM me and we can discuss further from there.

Hi gorilla_chow, Got my CURT C13204 Hitch Receiver form eTrailer thru Vpost.  Took me about 2 hours to install it myself . Total Damage S$400.

as mine will be locally fabricated, I intend to have mine through the 'third braking' light opening. Also have asked the workshop to weld two nuts into the frame on the right side for securing purposes (originally no nuts for securing).

A few things add-ons I'm looking at

1) PPS
2) Side Steps
3) Front n Rear camera. (Yet to decide if I want to replace the one provided by TC)

4) May be change antenna to shark fin

Today tried the third row, it is too cramp even for kids unless the second row slide forward to make room. But I notice when you slide forward second row there is only one locking position at about 15cm forward which make the second row become too narrow. So, is there a way we can install additional locking position to allow more granular sliding adjustment?

 

My humble Latio slide provide 2-3 locking even. Cannot understand why xtrail provide only one!

I have my X-Trail for around 4 weeks now, and I'm not too happy with it.

 

Vibration is very noticeable at all times when the car is stationary. I can even see my headlamp lights on the car in front of me vibrating. This is not typical for a new car.

 

And the engine from the outside of the car sounds like the timing belt has broken off.

 

At least wind and tyre noise are isolated very well.

Yes, I cannot understand why it's like that too. But understandably, this is not a 7-seater SUV to begin with. I guess it has been wrongly marketed. It should touted as a 5+2.

 

My primary school kids can still squeeze into the rear seats, but my poor in-laws got not much leg room in the 2nd row. The compromise? Both the front seats got to be adjusted as forward as possible.

 

I cannot imagine using the rear seats for a trip to KL. It will be more punishing than Economy Class seats on the plane.

Got my car exactly a month ago.

 

Other than the fact that i think it needs more power, i am happy with the car. Vibration or rattles etc, none from the car. Usually they came from the things i have in the various storage compartments.

Saw a YouTube video Taiwan xtrail review, the second row seat have a few locking position when sliding, but that is for the 5 seater in the video. So I hope some Sg workshop can modify the mechanism to add more locking.

Hi bro, this is unusual for a new car, at least not what I would expect from my previous experience with Nissan. Must raise this in 1k servicing, could be mounting issue.

You should try again. There are about six levels of adjustment available for second row. I just tested out in my car.

I am sure you viewed the car and test drove it before handing over the cheque>

 

If during test drive no vibration , which I believe there should be none, then it should be obvious to you that the vibration is abnormal and not a feature of the car.  

 

Do you really own a x-trail?

no leh... I tried the showroom car in LK, only one locking leh, even the sales lady said it is like that... I am referring to forward/backward sliding, not reclining the  which i think has a few locking.
