Leading the pack in COE rebate .... today's Straits Times

When the dealer do this, it means they surely know Coe is not going to be lower this coming round...they are trying to lure those who think Coe can go lower to buy early by giving them 1:1 Coe rebate (meaning two times the normal rebate).

You r welcome..i went thru the pain of going thru 3 se from tcm b4 signing on the dotted line with her. After sales service from her gd also..that day i knock my car into a metal pole..she recommend me a workshop to rectify the dent and respray and call up the boss to give me best price

Finally signed on the dotted line after a long considerations. A very close call between Harrier (very nice specs but PI) , XT and Tuscon (attractive package and price). Tested a number of cars over a 3 weeks period.

 

Thank you very much to Bro Linshun for the recommendation of SE in TCM. Very nice and accommodating lady. No wonder well recommended. The best among a few that i gotten to know during my past visits to other TCM showroom.

 

Do PM any of us if you still on the fence and need an SE to intro. :)

 

Waiting patiently for the arrival of the XT in march. Meanwhile, Drive safe everyone and see you on the roads. :)

I had my car for around 2 weeks now, and have yet to go for the 1,000km servicing.

 

1. For those of you who still can remember, was the gearbox rather jerky during the initial move-off from standstill every morning? It's almost feels like a half-baked half-clutch that's not done properly. 

 

2. Also, how is your FC? On 70% highway, 2WD all the time and an average speed of 36km/h since I took the car, I'm clocking no more than 10km/l. 

 

I hope this is because the car hasn't run in yet.

I think FC normally go downhill n worse as time passes, not improve.

Generally for brand new cars, out of the factory, they use mineral oil, engine parts not worn in yet, the FC should improve after the 1st servicing.

 

Gear box wise I leave it to existing owners to share their experience. Not all CVT GB are made the same.

I hope you are not referring Nissan cars. I don't remember all the other brands that I owned before were like that, at least not immediately after running in.

That's what I hope so too - due to the mineral oil.

Sheez... First time owning an SUV so I'm not sure if such low FC is the norm. But I really hope 8km/l is not the final figure. Even my previous 3.0L, 1.9 ton car fetched better FC.

I'm still within the first 1k km.. Probably engine running in. Plus I make a lot of short trips. Those are fc killers.

Want to have a feel of Coe bidding success rate for Tan Chong. So far what's the typical no. of bids b4 coe is secured for non guaranteed pkg? Worth it to go for guaranteed pkg for 1000 bucks more?

TC sure can get one la .... COE drop more than 11k car prices only drop 5-6k .... Enough profit got them to bid lo ...

Yes. I'm quite sure they'll get it because they want to do business. Unless there's any sudden spike which is not likely.

TC should be able to secure without issue. I got mine at first bidding.

 

I will use that 1k to bid for nice car plate instead.
