hi Michaeleu

oh the workshop is at kaki bukit (think auto bay - sorry I don't have the address cos I was guided there). I was at the shop just few days ago, cos the hitch they have is DIY type.

have some difficulty as with reference to the attached photo, additional welding is require to the left side (as it have hole but not nuts to secure the hitch trailer). AS advised by mechanic, welding to the car can be done but may damage original structure of the body frame. so need to reconsider (reselling may be a problem in future).

for your info

ps: I saw the link you post, have you got the hitch trailer? the price they quote is in usd?

Went under my Xtrail and true enough that there's no weld-nuts there as what your picture show.

Run a wire thru' the hole and it came out from the groove near the Bumper.

so I intended to get the bolt leader to guide the nut to the holes and from there should be able to secure the hitch.

My SE was also unable to give me a definite collection date as he did not want to over promise on the delivery. Probably between 28 to 30 Jan depending how soon the workshop can do up the car. He explains TC is experiencing high volume of shipment to complete before cny. During this peak season, there is a high chance the workshop might miss some deadlines and thus some SE doesn't want to commit the delivery to their customer.

Having said that, i have good feeling that those who were promised end jan are able to collect their car on time.

Especially if the SE is solely sales driven.

At least your SE bothered to explain the reason...

Am collecting in end Feb. Booked in the first week of January.

Besides the X-Trail, was actually considering the Outlander. The rest of the SUVs are really beyond my budget.

IMO, exterior wise, the X-Trail looks better. Interior, X-Trail comes with rear aircon and this is a plus point for hot Singapore.

Even though the 3rd row is meant for kids, however when I tested myself with the Outlander, being 1.75m, I couldn't fold back the 2nd row of seats. On the other hand, X-Trail is still manageable.

Well, I did thought of going for an MPV instead. However those in the same price range as the X-Trail were the Wish and Mazda5. But am still in my early 30s and I think the MPV can wait.

Most of your points are what I had in mind when I booked the xtrail. Cheers!

Any idea whether TC will bring in the Xtrail 1.6 Petrol Turbo?

If so, then this may crash the resale value of the current Xtrail 2.0 [smallcry]

Anyone here chose the Adventure edition?

X-Trail%20Exterior.jpg

I like the more rugged look but half-minded about paying extra 3K for it.

Is the Adventure edition kit an add-on kit to the basic bumper or a whole different bumper /side-skirt set?

I saw someone posted Taobao links on add-on kits for the basic bumper, are these of good quality?

TB2rn00fXXXXXXBXpXXXXXXXXXX-515042021.jp

Toying with idea of getting the Taobao front/rear bumber add on and the narrow sidestep plates.

Anyone have any experience or opinion to share on this matter?
