60k & 70k still high ba...

This quarter 42% more COE next quarter another 20 to 30% more...

Why rush ?

Old car's problem by now almost all fixed liao...

if everyone thinking like you, 60k & 70k should be the bottom liao,

otherwise even if COE another 20 to 30% more, buyers will be another 40 to 50% more :D ,

wait wait until election complete, your crying is to late :D

Ooo... i was thinking wait lor... why rush to showroom haha

hey... i am pretty sure 20 to maybe 30% of car previous buyers not willing

to upfront 50% down payment then suffer another 5 years loan

Maybe my friends/ colleague/ relative are not so willing to spend on car ba...

Most are taking longer & higher loan than what is ruling now ba...

Time will tell....

Dropped 11k doesn't mean car sellers are gonna chop 11k off the price. Next bid sure jump.

Latest coe is generally in line with AD pricing based on last weekend.

AD may slash price by a few more thousands to entice more buyers. Depending on the orders this 2 weekend, we shall see if coe continue to fall.

Like what some car dealers have said that the downtrend in COE price is a prophecy that is self-fulling. When everyone expects COE to increase, car dealers will offer car packages with lower COE rebate and car prices.

Since car dealers are the main bidders for COEs, they will never bid for a COE price that is higher than what they offered to customers and one that hurts their profit margin. As long as there is no policy changes on COE supply, COE will continue to fall........ [thumbsup]

50% down payment is not major killer for buyer,

based on CAT A COE 60k, so normal B&B CAT A car price should drop to 100k around, if trade in old car 30k in average, then 70k for car price, 50% down payment only 35k, most family should not be problem in current Singapore society, moreover 50% down payment also save interest actually,

even if w/o this policy, I also tried to pay as much as possible in first payment,

unless you want CAT B premium categroy cars, that is only for rich man's game

Cat A drop by about 10K!

Haha, hope this trend holds for another 2 more months+ and then stay at 40-50K for Cat A... Lesser is better, but I think 40-50K is ok..

I think this weekend VW and Toyota showroom will very busy....I already see quite a few of the new altis on the road....and jetta price is damn low so for those who don't mind gambling on the gearbox can give it a try...

Isn't it amazing? ADs reduce car prices by 10k-15k and COE really went down by 10k!

This shows that COE price is very much influenced by ADs' biddings, don't you think? It is all about Economics 101 - Demand & Supply. [:p]

Which B&B car can sell at 100k if COE at 60k? most of B&B car OMV are more than 20k.

I am NOT recommending it and I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. All I am saying is that for some, if the price drops below $120K (which I think is very possible) it may be too tempting to resist. Anyway heard that Golf is much more reliable (though same GB) and it cost only a few thousand more than Jetta so maybe can get that instead? My friend has the past 3 generations of Golf (incl current one) and never encountered any problem.

Tell that to those who not only have to top up on their old cars and also pay 50% for the new cars
