if you are comparing diesel, santa fe is 141k and sorento is 146k. no more 15k difference. so if you were leaning towards sorento even when it was 15k more expensive, now it's just 10k assuming you're aiming for awd. it shd be less if your negotiating skills are good.

anyway, there is indeed a facelifted santa fe. do check it out. not yet in spore

The assumption that my negotiations skills can bring down the Sorento car price down further should also assume that I can negotiate the same amount of discount from santa fe as well. Unless u are telling me that Komoco is stiffer than C&C discount wise.

Do you have the link to the face-lifted Sant fe? I know the 2017 US market Santa Fe (long wheel based 7 seater) has different bumpers, dual exhaust, last side window is different and bigger). 2017 US market Santa Fe Sport (standard wheel base 5 seater) is the exact same bumper, twin pipe exhaust, same exact body shape as the local Santa fe.

this is for the US market. before i bought the sorento, komoco's sales executive mentioned that the new santa fe should be in spore by 3rd quarter 2016. they were trying hard to sell me the current version so that i didnt have to wait.

however, if you ask them now, they would say that there's no guarantee the 2017 version would come so that they can sell the current crop. i also heard that's why they suddenly bring in the diesel version as well.

all these i gathered from a friend of mine who just went to komoco and cnc kia to look at santa fe and sorento yesterday. he admitted he could get better discount from komoco.

See the rear quarter and the bumpers for the difference between the LWB and the standard wheel base model.

In Singapore we get the Australian spec car, which is equivalent to the 2017 USA Santa Fe Sport with standard wheelbase and 7 seats squeezed in.

USA car naming convention is like this... a 2016 released for sale model/facelift will be named 2017.

** for further discussion on this topic better to move to Santa Fe thread**

What is your effective final price for the 2WD SX Diesel?

Eg. The amt of over trade (since u mentioned that they gave u a higher trade in comparedvto other ADs, so that may be a component of over trade built in)

Let me check and get back to you.

LOL. I really wanted to indent the Diesel 4WD after they screwed around with my Order... Order would have been placed in October... with delivery in Jan... May have saved a lot of money with the high COE rebate at the point in time.

How is your Sharan?

7 more months to go for my Nissan Presage. I am targeting either Sorento SX Diesel 4WD, Elgrand(8 seaters) or Vellfire(8 seaters) . Still undecided which to go. Each of them has their pro and con. Any good advice? :)

Think you can't compare Sorento SUV with Elgrand or Vellfire MPV car. If most of the time You using 7 seaters then better consider MPV if not I highly recommended Sorento cause I just resisted this week only. Edited by Rebels

No good advise, however if comparing car to car basis ONLY, regardless of SUV VS SUV.

Elgrand and Vellfire are real comfort 7 seater, however the height is challenging for some car parks.

Sorento has a more masculine and punchy feel to the look compare to the 2.

Trimmings unsure, from what I remember, the 2 MPVs' seems not as luxurious as Sorento.

The 2 has more plasticy feel and look, plus the usual boring Japanese layout and design.

Sorento feels more luxurious though the screen is a let down.

How often does one really need to fill up all 7 seats with full sized adults? 2-3 times a year and for that you spend 30k more?. For emergency cases and within singapore, x-trails last cramped row should suffice.

Mit Outlander is probably the tightest I'd go at the X Trail price range.

Otherwise, it will be Sorrento and the slightly smaller Santa Fe.

OT a bit, the K5 a very compelling package even though the feedback is that the previous K5 had more features (if there is no Korean phobia vs Japanese).

Should ask for free Servicing, GPS,Camera, floor mat and solar film. Dun think eurostyle entertainment system easily unless they didn't give you other discount.

My SE gave me free 1 year servicing and the solar film.

No GPS or camera, and don't think I need the floor mats.

But I'll be interested in the camera.

Is it both front and back, or just 1?

Let me check and get back to you.

Appears my final price is about 9K more after higher trade in and over trade.

Not sure about K5 versions after mine (2013), but mine is quite packed with features. Ventilated seats for both front seats, but only cold air on driver's seat.

And recently, my wife just told me even the rear is ventilated as well, even though it is only hot air!

Then built-in reverse camera image on the rear mirror. (This caused me to have problem parking when I test drove the Sorento as I had to look down to see the screen.

Moon and Sun roof as well.

One thing I regretted getting most was the body kit. It forced me to go dead slow on humps and slopes. If not, will definitely scrape the bottom. And I've already repaired the front once because it broke slightly when I went a little too fast on a hump.

And I tore it slightly again not too long after repairing it when I did a U-turn and the bodykit scraped a kerb. The turning radius of the K5 is very wide. Most 2 lanes U-turn will need to adjust.

But still, if my COE is successful, I'm gonna miss the K5. It is a very beautiful car and I like almost everything about it.

9k more than list price?

[confused]
