Still can't firgure out why replace gearbox and others parts just left 3 - 4 months to scrap ?

He owns a workshop , so repair is realatively cheaper. But at least he repairs the car before selling it. And if any problems, hopefully he helps to repair using his own workshop at cheaper price.

Toyota Estima COE till 27 Oct 2016

$25888

Is this a better buy?

You might as well buy from babyrexx. At least he repairs the car. But do a test drive yourself before buying. Boeki cars are sold as is, otherwise they will export them..as is too. Edited by Ct3833

helping my sister to sell her Kia Magentis 2.0L A/T

its was a weekend car converted to normal car and just renewed 5 years COE at $23024 in May, so this car COE will expire on 31st May 2021. It has relatively very low mileage, i think less than 70k. Car is excellent both interior and exterior less minor dings. 1 owner since day 1. Everything is stock and service regularly.

Due to unforeseen circumstance, my sister is unable to continue driving, and need to let go urgently. The road tax expires 27 July 2016. the parf rebate before the renewed COE was $5970, and plus the COE just renewed which added up to $28994, looking at a reasonable price of $27K.

Please contact me at 81130088 George

just to check is it possible to still scrap now and get back the parf since the official date for scrap is on 27 July but coe was renewed earlier ?

thank you

As long as within 10 years. That means if your ride reaches 10th year on 27 July, you can still get back your scrap (last day 26 July) plus whatever used COE paid even if you renew COE.

Typo error: change used to unused

You will get back your unused portion of the coe value but the scrap value of 5,970 is gone. But may be LTA could set exception , you may want to call them up or write in to appeal. Edited by Ct3833

I would concur with that.

You would have utilized some part of the COE and yes u lose that but u get back PARF as ur car still within the 10yr range, do a check on OneMotoring.com.sg and see if the PARF benefits still shows

Hi all,

Have a Nissan Latio Sports 1.5(A) for sale at $1500 above paper

Black color

COE Expiry: 26 Oct 16

OMV: 16569

Condition: Can drive till scrap according to mechanic although there is knocking sound at left drum brake which pose no safety issue.

Not for fussy driver as outlook 6/10 because there is a small dent near left front headlight, some chipoff on painting, dings/dents along doors caused by commercial vehicles mostly.

If want to renew, probably need to fix the drum brake, suspension, tires and engine mounting.

PM me if interested.

Thanks!

Neutral Newbie

Hi guys,

Need some advice on a car left 10 months from a friend of my friend,

It is a Toyota Picnic in working condition. Mileage is high as it is used for business.

The friend said I can either buy it at $20K+ (Parf is ~ $12k) or rent it at $1k per month.

I am thinking to rent it as I no need pay insurance (it will cover unnamed driver with more excess) and road tax. Also it might help avoid the biggest concern that what if the car broke and need major maintenance.

I will just use this car for slight use, warm up my driving skill before getting a new car, also waiting the COE, hopefully go down a few K. It is a 7 seat car, I actually don't like, might have higher fuel cost.

Thinking to negotiate to $800 per month, do you guys think this is a good deal or any concern on it? I don't have car insurance myself.

thanks very much,

Michael

I don't think so.

Once you renew COE (regardless of year), the PARF is already forfeited.

What you get back from a scrapped car with renewed COE is only the balance COE paid.

Is that right? I thought these 2 components are different.

It is a fact that PARF rebate is forfeited once COE is renewed.

Feel free to check with LTA for confirmation.

That too is what my understanding is. But the post #2676 stated otherwise.

Or I misinterpret it?
